1. Introduction Norges Luftsportforbund (NLF) in cooperation with Vingtor RC Club and Glåmdalen RC Club welcomes you to participate in the Nordic Championship F3A 2013 held in Norway. Bulletin No. 1 gives you the basic information regarding the contest. Please find more information at the Championships web page announced at the front page of this Bulletin. 2. General Information The general rules mentioned in the FAI Sporting Code regarding model dimensions and weight will be used. Weight, dimensions etc. will be verified during model processing prior to the contest. Marking and model certificate according to the sporting-code will not be required. The P-13 schedule will be flown in the preliminary four F3A rounds and the F-13 schedule will be flown in the last three final F3A rounds. In the Nordic class the N-13 Nordic schedule that was approved at the Nordic Championship 2011 in Jämi, Finland will be used. 3. Location and time The competition will take place at Glåmdalen RC Clubs model flying field at Maarud Gaard, approximately 80 km north east of Oslo and approximately 40 km from the Swedish border at Charlottenberg. The grass runway is approximately 25 x 150 meters and the sun will be outside the manoeuvring sector from late noon. 4. Participating teams This Bulletin will be forwarded to the following countries: Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. The Championship is open for both a F3A and a Nordic Team. It will be both an individual and a team competition. Each participating country can enter the following teams: F3A: One team consisting of up to 3 pilots and 2 junior pilots. The junior pilots could be substituted by 2 seniors who will be counted as open participants. In addition to the above mentioned team, the reigning F3A Nordic Champion, Lassi Nurilla from Finland is invited. He will participate as an open participant. Nordic: Up to 4 pilots, where the 3 best individual total scores will count as the team result. However, all team members will be awarded in the team competition. All competitors will be requested to present their international sporting license during model processing. 5. Departure of participants 6. Radio Frequencies The following radio frequencies will be allowed for use in the contest: - 35 MHz channels 60 90 ( 35.000 35.220 MHz) - 2.4GHz (2400 2483.5 GHz) This frequency is allowed with an effect of up to 10/100 mw in accordance with EU regulation EN 300 328. 7. Transmitter Impound The transmitters will not be stored by the organizers during the contest. This means that all pilots are responsible for their own transmitter and the channel used. If a 35 MHz transmitter is used, a frequency clip has to be attached to the transmitter. If any competitors use the 35 MHz band the starting sequence of the participants will be arranged so no frequency collisions will appear. 8. Noise Check There will not be performed regular noise check before each flight. If a complaint from judges or competitors is raised, or the organizers of the event find a model particularly noisy, a noise check will take place in accordance to rules mentioned in the FAI Sporting Code. For the time being the noise limit is 94 db (A). Page 4 of 7
9. Judges F3A pilots and Nordic pilots will both fly in front of a panel of 4 judges. In the F3A class, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have to provide 1 (one) judge each. The panel of judges has to do 4 (four) P-13 rounds and 3 (three) F-13 rounds and have to consist of the same judges throughout the whole competition. In the Nordic class, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden has to provide 1 (one) pilot each from the F3A class to form a panel of judges, or a competent non-pilot judge if so are available. It is up to each country to decide if their judge will be the same person all the way or change of judge will occur between each round. Accommodation Hvam Collage boarding school: (http://www.hvam.vgs.no/tjenester/internat/) will be the primary accommodation throughout the competition. Accommodation of Judges. F3A judges from the participating countries will be offered accommodation in one of the above mentioned places. F3A judges will be entitled to maximum value of Euro 100 per day to cover accommodation and food. If the judge expenses excess Euro 100 it has to be covered by the team that the judge is from. Maximum coverage for judges will be 5 days, with exception if the usage of Sunday the 29th of June as a competition day Page 5 of 7
12. Entry Fees The entry fee will be as follow: F3A and Nordic pilots Euro 200 Team manager Euro 200 The entry fee includes 1 ticket for the banquet and a Nordic Champion suveneir. If the team manager also participates as a pilot, the total fee is Euro 200. Supporters, spouses and other persons part of the team is allowed to attend the banquet for a cost of Euro 60. 13.
