The following will be a guideline for the tryout process. Fall Middle School Athletics begin on Wednesday, September 5 th. There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 5 th in the JFK Gym at 2:00 PM for all those interested in trying out for a fall sport All students who tryout must have an approved sports physical on file Tryouts will last approximately 3-7 days All students must participate in the tryout process All teams will have tryouts unless the number of students that tryout is less than the approximate roster count If a student is cut from a team they may join a team that did not have cuts if the roster is not full If a team needs to conduct tryouts the percentage of students kept will be approximately 40% 7 th graders, 40% 8 th graders and 20% will be up to the discretion of the coaches Approximate roster counts for teams Cheerleading - approximately 25 students Boys Cross Country approximately 25 students Girls Cross Country approximately 25 students Field Hockey - approximately 25 students Football - approximately 45 students (approximately 50% lineman and 50% backs) Boys Soccer - approximately 25 students Girls Soccer - approximately 25 students Girls Tennis - approximately 20 students See specific sports below for skills the coaches will be evaluating during the try-out process.
