The Braves will send RHP Wes Parsons (3-3) to the mound while RHP Jose Lopez (7-1) goes to the hill for the Blue Wahoos. LAST GAME: The Mississippi Braves bounced back after three losses to defeat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4-0 Saturday night at Trustmark Park. The M-Braves were led by No. 15 prospect Touki Toussaint on the mound and Joey Meneses at the plate, as Mississippi put on a complete performance in the victory. SUPERSENSATIONAL SATURDAY/FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT: Saturday September 2nd will be Fan Appreciation Saturday sponsored by iheartmedia. All homeplate, dugout, and field level seats will be $6. Hot dogs, 16 oz. fountain drinks will be $2. Also, the first 2,500 fans will receive an Free MBraves baseball cap. In addition to our normal Super Sensational Saturday prize drawing, a special live drawing will take place on September 2rd with prizes featuring a 60 Flat Screen TV, MBraves Club Level Season tickets, 1 year supply of Chick-Fil-A, an Arctic Cat 4-wheeler, and a Tracker Topper 14 fishing boat among other great prizes. MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU PITCHER OF THE WEEK: LHP Kolby Allard, 20, struck out 10 batters in his start against the Jumbo Shrimp this week. He tossed six innings, holding Jacksonville to two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks. Allard is 6-10 with a 3.50 ERA in 23 starts for the M-Braves this season. MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU PLAYER OF THE WEEK: C Alex Jackson, 21, posted a.462 batting average in three games during the week. Since joining the Double-A Braves at the end of July, Jackson is hitting.194 in 10 games. He was hitting.272 with 17 doubles, 14 home runs and 45 RBI through 66 games at High-A Florida before his promotion to Mississippi. ATLANTA BRAVES ORGANIZATIONAL PITCHER/PLAYER FOR JULY: LHP Philip Pfeifer, 25, posted a 1.38 ERA in eight relief appearances during the month of July at Double-A Mississippi. He d struck out 15 in 13 innings of work. The southpaw was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett earlier this week. He was 1-3 with three saves and a 3.45 ERA in 30 relief appearances for the M-Braves this season. He d struck out 68 batters while walking 33 in 44.1 innings pitched. Pfeifer did not allow a run in eight outings during the month of June. IF Dylan Moore, 24, posted a.304 batting average in 26 games during the month of July. He had five doubles, seven RBI and five stolen bases. In 96 games with the Double-A Braves this season, Moore has a.191 average with 11 doubles, three home runs and 31 RBI. 2018 SOUTHERN LEAGUE SCHEDULE RELEASED: The 2018 season marks the Mississippi Braves 14th season at Trustmark Park. The Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves begins the season Thursday, April 5 with a five-game homestand against the Tennessee Smokies. The 2018 season features 70 games at Trustmark Park and 70 games on the road during the 140-game regular season. Mississippi fans have seen more than 120 former M-Braves make their Major League debuts and 21 of those were called up directly from Double-A Mississippi. The M-Braves have made it to the playoffs four times and won the 2008 Southern League Championship. THIS DATE IN BRAVES HISTORY: 1961...In the second game of a doubleheader, the Phillies snap a 23-game losing streak by beating the Braves, 7-4. The victory establishes a new record for the most consecutive losses by a major league team. At the conlcusion of the final game of the home stand, the team will board the bus for Chattanooga for a 5-game series versus the Lookouts from August 21-25. Each of the five games begin at 6:15 (CT). Following that series, the trip continues to Pensacola for 5 games. In the Hole Mississippi conpletes the final road trip of 2017 as they travel through the night from Chattanooga to Pensacola to play the final five games on the road beginning Saturday, August 26 and running through Wednesday, August 30.
