The Lookouts are still trying the clinch the second half in the North Division race while the Braves are just looking to end the season on a positive note. The Braves send RHP Wes Parsons (3-3) to the mound and the Lookouts counter with LHP Lewis Thorpe (1-0). LAST GAME: Despite walking seven batters, Braves pitchers Touki Toussaint, Corbin Clouse and Josh Graham teamed up to shut down the Lookouts offense and lead the M-Braves to a 6-2 victory Thursday in Chattanooga. The only runs scored by the Lookouts came on a home run after a walk by Toussaint in the fourth. SUPERSENSATIONAL SATURDAY/FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT: Saturday September 2nd will be Fan Appreciation Saturday sponsored by iheartmedia. All homeplate, dugout, and field level seats will be $6. MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RHP Touki Toussaint, 21, tossed seven two-hit innings to pick up the win against Pensacola August 19. The young right-hander surrendered just two walks while striking out nine. Since joining the Double-A Braves July 31, Toussaint is 1-3 with a 2.05 ERA in four starts. He started the season at High-A Florida where he posted a record of 3-9 with a 5.04 ERA in 19 starts. He struck out 123 batters in 105.1 innings of work with the Fire Frogs. MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU PLAYER OF THE WEEK: INF Joey Meneses, 25, posted a.438 batting average (7-for-16) with one double in six games during the week. In 93 games with the Double-A Braves this season, he is hitting.289 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBI. Meneses was selected as a 2017 Southern League Mid-Season All-Star. SOUTHERN LEAGUE PITCHER OF THE WEEK: The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs announces its Pitcher and Player of the Week for August 14 through 20. Righthander Touki Toussaint of the Mississippi Braves was selected as the Pitcher of the Week. On August 19, in his lone start of the week, Toussaint was absolutely dominant. Scattering just two hits and two walks over seven innings, the Coral Springs, Florida native produced a miniscule.091 opponents batting average and WHIP of 0.57. Toussaint did not allow a run in the outing, guiding his club to a 4-0 win over their division rival Pensacola. Using 62 of his 96 pitches for strikes, Toussaint fanned nine Blue Wahoos batters in the contest. He was 1-3 with three saves and a 3.45 ERA in 30 relief appearances for the M-Braves this season. He d struck out 68 batters while walking 33 in 44.1 innings pitched. Pfeifer did not allow a run in eight outings during the month of June. IF Dylan Moore, 24, posted a.304 batting average in 26 games during the month of July. He had five doubles, seven RBI and five stolen bases. In 96 games with the Double-A Braves this season, Moore has a.191 average with 11 doubles, three home runs and 31 RBI. He came out of the bullpen in the June 29th game at Trustmark Park and limited Chattanooga to one run on one hit (a homer) while walking two and striking out four. LAST TIME OUT Wes Parsons made his seventh start of the year, and the righty did not disappoint, delivering seven scoreless innings on the mound. Parsons scattered three hits and a walk with six strikeouts, matching his season high in innings pitched. The reliever was brilliant, getting ahead of hitters early and putting them away with a sharp slider. In relief, the M-Braves needed three arms to record six outs over the final two innings. Spent most of his time at High-A Carolina, posting a record of 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 16 games (seven starts).
