AGM minutes are ongoing, awaiting Treasurers report to confirm figures noted at meeting. The Club Handbook needs updating by each section to reflect changes since last edit. There was no update on the sponsored Members Hole from the club mamnagement. Website update; Suggestions section to be provide sometime in the future. CK has put together an outline and this was shared with the committee. Clarification was saught on responses to any suggestions. It was agreed to have responses ratified by the full committee. Replies to suggestions will be published after approval by the committee. Club newsletter does not contain full information from competitions and other sections, each section shoul send contribution to the management before the end of each month. New GDPR regulations are being introduced late in May. The current handicap system holds contact details of most seniors and should be verified that this is OK to keep details after the introduction date. Check with Luke Atkins and Brian Wells the best way to approach this. Management Report Luke Atkins provided a written report; Please accept my apologies for my absence from tonight s meeting. As previously mentioned Wednesday s have become a difficult evening for me. However, please see a brief report of our progress over the last month. I am pleased to announce that we have taken delivery on three new mowers for our green keeping team. The new machines will replace our exciting greens, tees and fairway mowers which have grown unreliable over the years. The team are extremely excited to get working with these news machines and continue to improve the course for all to enjoy We held our first divot repair session which took place on Wednesday 25 th April. The session wasn t as well supported as we would have liked but the group spent a successful afternoon filling and repairing divots and crow marks on holes 12, 13 and 14. Jack was extremely pleased with their work and even arranged an additional repair session before Wednesday 30 th May.

On course, it has been a difficult winter which has made it very challenging for our team. Having said this we have achieved almost everything we set out to do starting with the 11 th bunkers which we completed before Christmas. Renovation work has now been completed on the greens and tees which are both recovering well. The greens were also hollow cored, deeply scarified and over seeded and are also recovering well. Cutting heights have been lowered to our summer lengths which will promote a quicker and firmer surface and with some more warm weather you can expect to see more improvements. I would like to thank Claire for her recent help designing the requested suggestions page which is ready to go live following the approval from the rest of the committee. We both agreed that it would be easier to use the admin email address and forward any suggestions to the committee from there. The additional page to keep a running log will need to be managed and updated by the person who is appointed to deal with these suggestions. This morning we welcomed Colin Chamberlain who will be conducting the course assessment on behalf of England golf using the new USGA method for course rating. Today he was completing the first part of his assessment by measuring all of the greens and surrounds. The second and final part will be completed next week where Colin and his team will conduct a full assessment which will take approx. 5 6 hours. During this process Colin will need to temporally close one hole at a time, making his way around the course. Unfortunately, the most suitable day is Tuesday 15 th May. The bi-monthly newsletter is sent at the end of each month including a summary of events from each section. Should the committee wish to forward any inclusions for a particular issue, please do so with enough time to make the necessary update. Sub Committee Reports Competitions TR stated a competitions sub-committee meeting was held prior to the main committee. Starters for all forthcoming competitions have been allocated. The 2018 Tina Morley Quarrelsome Trophy will be run as a club competition and on a weekend this year. The Club Championship three competition qualification is from 1 st January 2018. Speed of play was discussed and it was agreed to adopt the seniors approach of nominating one person in each group to act as timekeeper for the group. This will be introduced at the weekend. Emphasis on Ready Golf also needs to be communicated for each competition. There is a need for timing signage to be placed on certain tees around the course indicating the time each group should have taken at each notice. To be discussed with the management team. Groups taking breaks at the 10 th tee should allow following groups through if they are not intending to stop. A marshall on the course always help to speed up groups, the suggestion of a marked up buggy to be provided on competition days was raised. To be discussed with management team.

Social Nothing to report. Finance See Appendix A Handicaps Continuous Handicap Reviews had taken place throughout the month, all notices have been posted on the notice boards and website. A review of various handicap reports including Inept and Best Players took place. No changes were considered for this month. The ladies had raised a question regarding the high handicap golfers playing in midweek competitions. TR indicated he was delighted to see that high handicap ladies were participating in competitions and reiterated this was the R&A and England Golf goal for the new handicapping guidelines brought in this year. TR and Tina Morley will be attending an England Golf presentation at Kirby Muxloe golf club on 16 th May outlining the new World Handicapping System which is intended to be introduced in 2020. We will provide a review at the next meeting. Juniors No report. Seniors Brian Tuckley provided the following report; Seniors April Competitions There were 5 competitions in April including the rescheduled monthly stableford from March. On the 6th the April Monthly Stableford was played and was won by Bob Goodacre with 37 points on countback from Neil Cunniffe also with 37. There were 5 players on 36 points but the player that gained third place on count back was Gary Rowlands from Alan Gibson, Clive Worley, Bob Morley and Graham Faulkner. The Arnie Baxendale Greensomes was played on the 12th on a miserable and cold day that saw mediocre scoring. Although our course was in remarkable condition after such a battering by the weather. The competition was won by the partnership of Neil Cunniffe and David Hargreaves who were the only team to break parr with a nett score of 70.0. Second was the team of Phil Jenkins and Roger Bowler with a nett score of 74.4 followed by Clive Smith and Alan Gibson with a score of 74.6. The rescheduled Stableford from March was played on the 17 th. It was won by Alan Gibson who returned 40 points to win, to repeat his triumph in the July Stableford. Steve Linham came second with 39 points, on count back from Dave Storey, also with 39 points. Steve Wells came 4th with 38 points. On the 20th the Spring Pairs was played and proved to be a high scoring, very competitive affair. The eventual winners, on count back, was the pairing of Pat Pickering and the on form Alan Gibson with 44 points. Second, with the same score, separated by only one point on the back nine was Steve Linham and Bob Pounds. So Pat Pickering and Alan Gibson find themselves the holders of the Seniors Spring Pairs Trophy for 2018. On the 27th was the Four Club Challenge when the Beast from the East was replaced by the Pest from the South West when persistent rain made conditions trying throughout the competition. However the more hardy of our Seniors gave a credible account of themselves. Alan Gibson came first with 37 points after carding

23 points on the first 9 holes. His score was 5 shots ahead of second place man Mark Tidmas and third place Graham Stewart with 32 and 31 points respectively. Seniors Matches The 2018 campaign opened with home match against Stoneleigh Deer Park and resulted in a defeat by 3.1/2 to 4.1/2 - not the best of starts. It didn t get any better on a visit to Overstone on the 9th, where the pairing of Pat Pickering and Paul Ransom found themselves all very wet an bedraggled on the 15th, one up against their opposition. At this point their opponents suggested a walk in draw and in the good sporting tradition of Kilworth Seniors they accepted. It was only at the end of the tie that they found that Kilworth had lost by 3.1/2 to 4.1/2. If the score in their game had stayed the same the overall score would have been reversed to register the first Kilworth win of 2018. On the 23rd we played away to Beedles Lake and despite our captain suffering a heavy loss the team came away with a 4 all draw. The next away match on the 26th was against Market Harborough and resulted in a 4 all draw. The final match in April was at home with Corby Priors Hall but unfortunately the weather was forecast to be heavy rain all day so Corby phoned to cancel the tie. In the event the weather was ok and resulted in the course being somewhat deserted. Seniors Schedule for May 4th Monthly Stableford 11th Captain v Vice Captain 14th Nick Melvin Trophy 17th Lutterworth Away 21st Cold Ashby Home 23rd Cosby Away 29th Kettering Away Ladies Claire Kunz provided the following ladies section report for main committee; 12.4.18 - The April Medal was played in wet and windy conditions, which was reflected in the scores Chris Atkin winning with only net 85. Val Foster and Deb West played Market Harborough in round 2 of the Daily Mail Foursomes, but lost 4&3. Only being able to practice a few days before. 13.4.18 - The return leg of the Taskers trophy was played at home. The ladies put up a brave fight winning 4-3, but unfortunately Newark will go through to the next round as they already had a 6-1 result at home. 15.4.18 - Mixed friendly vs Cold Ashby at home, 7 pairs played and Kilworth beat them 5-2. Very enjoyable day and good company. 16.4.18 - Ladies Aussie spoons, second organised event. Suzie Burgess & Chris Atkin currently leading in 34 points. Ladies have up until end of June to try and better that. 18.4.18 - Handicap League match vs Beedles Lake at Home beat them 2-1 23.4.18 - Ladies friendly vs Glen Gorse away, 2-2 25.4.18 - Handicap League match vs Ullesthorpe away lost 2-1 26.4.18 - Ladies qualifying stableford, saw a large entry of 22 Ladies. Jane Collins took first with 34 points. We invited handicaps of upto 54 to play and are currently reviewing the first qualifier Comp. with higher handicaps.

29.4.18 - Annodata round 2 was away to Kibworth B team narrowly losing 3-2. One of the matches was lost on the 18th. 5 ladies represented Kilworth. 1.5.18 - Mixed friendly with Seniors, 16 ladies and gents took part in the competition. Pete Dennis and Ann Clayton won with 44 points. 4.5.18 - Ladies Peugeot Coronation Foursomes took place on Thursday 4th May. Dee Godwin and Suzie Burgess will represent Kilworth with 34 points. 9.5.18 - The third Handicap League match vs Hinckley at home. Result was 2-1 win. Teams A Team Luke Atkins provided a written report; I would like to report a successful opening fixture for our A team who secured a convincing 7-1 win in their opening game against Ullesthorpe. They will travel to Stapleford Park tomorrow evening and will look to continue their recent success. B team Paul Blyth reported the following; Match against Forest Hill (H) was lost 4-2. Match against Stapleford Park (A) was won 3-2. Next match is Humberstone Heights (H) on 16 th May. The match against Melton Mowbray (H) has been rescheduled for Wednesday 29 th August. Annodata team Paul Blyth reported we lost the match against Northants County (A) 3.5-1.5 L&RGU Council meeting took place on Tuesday 1 st May at the Birstall golf club. Main point discussed was the England Golf proposal to increase affiliation fees from 8.25 to 9.50 for next year, however, this has been rejected by the various Golf Unions asking for a breakdown on England Golf finance and why such a large increase is required. The next L&RGU Council meeting is scheduled for 30 th October 2018. Venue to be decided. Any Other Business No further issues were raised Date of next meeting Wednesday 6 th June 2018 at 7.00pm Prior to committee meeting the Competitions / Handicaps sub-committee meeting will be held at 6.00pm. Dates of future Committee Meetings are as follows; Wednesday 4 th July Wednesday 15 th Aug Wednesday 12 th Sept Wednesday 10 th Oct Wednesday 14 th Nov Wednesday 12 th Dec Wednesday 9 th Jan 2019
