3 RIDERS CATEGORIES Referring to the article 5.1.001 competitions are open to riders born in: CATEGORY Men elite YEAR OF BIRTH 1995 and older Men under 23 1996 to 1999 Men junior 2000 and 2001 Women elite 1995 and older Women under 23 1996 to 2001 4 COMPETITORS SELECTION 9.2.042 A World Championship shall be organized for the Men elite, Women elite, Men under 23, Women under 23 (17-22 years old) and Men junior categories. 9.2.043 The maximum number of riders per Men elite's national team shall be determined by the final classification by nation of the UCI Cyclo-cross Ranking for the preceding season: Nations ranked from 1 st to 5 th All other nations 9 riders, with 6 to start 8 riders, with 5 to start 2016-2017 UCI CYCLO-CROSS FINAL NATION RANKING MEN ELITE 1 BELGIUM 2 NETHERLANDS 3 GERMANY 4 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 5 FRANCE 6 CZECH REPUBLIC 7 SWITZERLAND 8 SPAIN 9 ITALY 10 CANADA 11 GREAT BRITAIN 12 SLOVAKIA 13 JAPAN 14 POLAND 15 DENMARK 16 AUSTRALIA 17 SWEDEN 18 LUXEMBOURG 19 ICELAND 20 HUNGARY 21 PORTUGAL 22 CHILE 23 NORWAY 24 AUSTRIA 25 IRELAND 26 FINLAND 27 SLOVENIA 28 ESTONIA 29 COLOMBIA 30 MEXICO 31 UKRAINE 32 LATVIA In the other categories, the number of riders per team is limited to 8, with 5 to start. 9.2.044 The national federations concerned may additionally enter the outgoing World Champions and the leaders of the final UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup standings Men elite, Men under 23, Men junior, Women and Women under 23. For the 2017 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships : Outgoing Men elite World Champion: the Belgian National Federation will be able to add the rider Wout VAN AERT Outgoing Women elite World Champion: the Belgian National Federation will be able to add the rider Sanne CANT. Outgoing Men under 23 World Champion: the Dutch National Federation will be able to add the rider Joris NIEUWENHUIS. For the 2017-2018 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup: Leaders of the final 2017-2018 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup standings Men elite, Men under 23, Men junior, Women elite and Women under 23 after the UCI World Cup in Hoogerheide (NED), 28.01.2018. 9.2.009 In all individual specialties, the outgoing World Champion may take part in addition to the number of starters that the National Federation of such Champions may enter under the qualification regulations. The same principle is applicable for the Continental Champion. This facility is limited to the first World Championships following the awarding of the title of Continental Champion. For the 2017 Cyclo-cross Continental Championships: Men elite Continental Champions: the Dutch National Federation will be able to add the rider Mathieu VAN DER POEL, and the USA National Federation will be able to add the rider Stephen HYDE. Women elite Continental Champions: the USA National Federation will be able to add the rider Katherine COMPTON. (the European champion, Sanne CANT is already qualified as outgoing UCI Cyclo-cross World Champion) Men under 23 Continental Champions the Belgian National Federation will be able to add the rider Eli ISERBYT, and the USA National Federation will be able to add the rider Gage HECHT. Women under 23 Continental Champions: the Italian National Federation will be able to add the rider Chiara TEOCCHI, and the USA National Federation will be able to add the rider Emma WHITE. Men junior Continental Champions: the Swiss National Federation will be able to add the rider Loris ROUILLER, and the USA National Federation will be able to add the rider Benjamin GOMEZ VILLAFANE. 9.2.045 Each federation shall be required to include its first three (3) ranked riders in their Men elite and Women elite team, as long as they are in the top 50 of the UCI Cyclo-cross Classification as published after the national championships in Europe. This rule shall not apply to riders who have failed to fulfill their obligations under the regulations. In the event of a dispute on this issue, it shall be the responsibility of the National Federation to decide whether the rider will be selected. UCI Off-Road / CRO Page 5 / 15

5 RIDERS REGISTRATION AND ACCREDITATION 5.1 ONLINE REGISTRATION When? How? The System will open on: The System will close on: Thursday 18 th January 2018, 12h00 CET Friday 26 th January 2018, 12h00 CET Through the website www.uci.ch, clicking as follows: Web services (at the bottom of the homepage) UCI World Championships Riders registration (accreditation included) Access: personal login and password of each National Federation Remark The name of the hotel where the riders will overnight must be given during the online registration. 5.2 RIDERS CONFIRMATION AT THE VENUE What? When? Where? All National Federations have to show up at the time of the riders confirmation to ensure the participation of their riders. The accreditation pick-up for a rider is different from the confirmation of his participation to commissaires. 5.3 RIDERS ACCREDITATIONS PICK-UP When? Accreditation centre : POLFERMOLEN, Plenkertstraat 50, 6301 GL Valkenburg, 1.5km away from the venue follow also Amstel Gold Race Experience Remark The accreditation pick-up for a rider cannot be considered as a confirmation of his participation. All National Federations have to show up at the time of the riders confirmation to ensure the participation of their riders. 5.4 RIDERS ASSISTANTS Attendants 5.1.041 Each rider may be accompanied by a paramedical assistant and two mechanics. The paramedical assistant and the mechanics must be provided by the organiser with a free accreditation, which gives them access to the area reserved for them by virtue of their office. The accreditations must be distributed outside the circuit, in a clearly indicated place. For the UCI cyclo-cross world cup and world championships, accreditations for rider s paramedical assistant and two mechanics will be distributed by commissaires exclusively, after that the license s check of each paramedical assistant and the mechanics has been completed. 5.5.017 UCI cyclo-cross teams registered with the UCI receive a series of benefits which include 2 accreditations for the team managers zone in the pit area and 2 parking passes per UCI cyclo-cross team during UCI cyclocross world championships and UCI. To avoid misunderstandings, the UCI has decided to grant a maximum number of accreditations to certain families according to the list below. However these quotas correspond to a complete team and will be adapted to the number of riders who will take part in the 2018 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. 8 START ORDER / RACE NUMBERS 8.1 START ORDER 5.1.042 The riders shall assemble in the call-up zone defined in article 5.1.019 at least 10 minutes before the start. Riders must wait for the start with at least one foot on the ground, or be penalized by being sent back to the last place in their start lane. 5.1.043 The start order of events is determined as follows: 1. As per the most recently published UCI cyclo-cross individual classification of the current season (or the final classification of the previous season if no classification has yet been published for the current season). 2. Unclassified riders: by nations in rotation (*). 5.1.053 At the UCI world championships, a classification by nation shall be drawn up by summing the places of the first three riders from each nation. Nations with two riders finishing shall be ranked after those with three. Nations with one rider finishing shall be ranked after those with two. In case of equal points in this classification, the place of the best ranked rider will break the tie. 9 ALLOCATION OF BOXES 5.1.036 At UCI world championships, UCI world cup events and continental championships the pit boxes are allocated at the team managers meeting, as follows: 1. Separately for each category on the basis of the most recently published UCI cyclo-cross classification by nation of the current season for the category concerned (or the final classification of the previous season if no classification has yet been published for the current season); 2. The allocation of boxes to teams that do not feature in the relevant classification shall be by drawing lots; 3. The team leaders shall select their preferred box in the order thus determined. 10 TEAM MANAGERS MEETING Date Each National Federation shall designate a team manager who shall represent the team and the National Federation during the World Championships and at the team managers meeting. Any contact with the National Federation teams shall be made through the team manager. In order to be informed about any announcement made in the evening of the race numbers attribution it is essential for the team managers to attend the race headquarters. 12 RULES 12.1 PARTICIPATION IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 9.2.001 It is the National Federations who select riders to participate in World Championships. 9.2.003 National Federations shall enter with the UCI via its website. 9.2.004 The enrolment of the federations riders shall reach the UCI within the following deadlines: From Thursday 18.01.2018 12:00 CET until Friday 26.01.2018 12:00 CET 9.2.005 Save in the case of an act of God, a National Federation that has enrolled by returning the enrolment form for a World Championship and that does not participate shall be liable to a fine of CHF 500 to CHF 2 000. 9.2.007 Federations shall announce the names of the riders who are to take the start to the commissaires panel by noon at the latest on the eve of the first race of the competition: Friday 2 nd February 2018, riders confirmation for all races 9:00-12:00 CET A rider declared unfit following an abnormal blood test cannot be replaced. 9.2.008 Unless prevented by an act of God, a rider once announced as taking the start and who fails to present, shall be liable to a fine of CHF 500 to CHF 5 000. An injury or sickness shall be recognized as an act of God only if the rider is declared incapable of taking the start by the UCI official doctor. 12.2 OTHER EXTRACTS 1.3.031 Wearing a rigid safety helmet shall be mandatory during competitions and training sessions. 2.2.023 The article on the maximum gear ratio for junior- Part 2 road races - is not valid for Cyclo-cross events. 5.1.059 For the UCI cyclo-cross world cup and world championships, men elite and women races only, the use of radio-communication from the rider to his/her mechanics is allowed. The use of radiocommunication from staff to the rider is forbidden. The use of such a system is subject to any relevant legal provisions. 1.3.025 Disc brakes are allowed in cyclo-cross training and competition. For races on the road and cyclo-cross, the use of fixed sprocket is forbidden: a braking that acts on both wheels is required. system 1.3.018 Wheels of the bicycle may vary in diameter between 70 cm maximum and 55 cm minimum, including the tyre. For the Cyclo-cross bicycle the width of the tyre (measured between the widest parts) shall not exceed 33 mm and it may not incorporate any form of spike or stud. 5.1.034 Personal high pressure cleaners are forbidden in the pit area during the UCI cyclocross world championships, the UCI cyclo-cross world cup and the continental cyclocross championships. 13 RACE CLOTHING Wearing of national team clothing shall be mandatory during the UCI World Championships. The team managers must therefore present the national jersey and shorts or the national skinsuit to the commissaires panel at the starters confirmation. Friday 2 nd February 2018, from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 1.3.056 National federations shall submit to the commissaires panel of events as specified in art. 1.3.059, a sample of their national team clothing for validation. The design, color, place and size of the advertising spaces of the validated equipment must be identical for all athletes participating to the applicable events. We encourage you to present to the UCI your national apparels before sending them for final production. The apparel of the riders of a national team must always be identical to the last sample submitted. 1.3.057 The following advertising shall be authorized: front of the jersey: 2 rectangular zones of 64 cm2 maximum; area comprising shoulders and sleeves: strip of maximum 5 cm high; on the sides of the jersey: a 9 cm wide strip; sides of the shorts: a 9 cm wide strip; the manufacturer's label (30 cm2) may appear once only on the jersey and once on each leg of the shorts. Advertising matter on jersey and shorts may vary from one rider to another. The design of the jersey and shorts may vary from one category of rider to another. Additionally, the rider's name may appear on the back of the jersey. The above measures also apply to other items of clothing worn during competition (rain jackets, etc.). 14 OFFICIAL CEREMONIES The following points apply to the official ceremonies: 9.1.044 Within 10 minutes following the end of each race (unless otherwise provided and duly recorded in an official communiqué), the World Champion, as well as the second and the third placed riders shall be ready for the official ceremony that shall be conducted under the responsibility of the president of the commissaires panel. 9.1.046 Riders shall appear in racing attire, wearing their national jerseys but bare-headed and without headband or glasses, until they leave the official ceremony enclosure. 9.1.050 A World Champion may not wear the jersey identifying his title and bearing the regulation advertisement of his main sponsor(s) until, at earliest, the day following that on which he received it. 9.1.0.51 Any infringement of the provisions of articles 9.1.044 to 9.1.050 shall be punished by a fine of CHF 2 000 to CHF 10 000 minimum. NF have to request to the Organisation Committee for the use of one of this cabin the 17.12.2017 at the latest: koen@pro-cycling.be. The parking passes will be collected in the accreditation center, by one delegate by nation only. From the Teams parking at the top of the Cauberg to the entrance of the circuit, a corridor will be dedicated to the riders participating at the event to the accredited persons.
