This will be the first doubleheader played by Gwinnett this season the club is 18-22 (.450) in twin-bills since 2009 (4-6 in 2013). Tonight s Games: The Gwinnett Braves continue an eight-game road trip (2-2 at LHV, 1-0 at BUF) with games two and three of a four-game series at Buffalo tonight. The G-Braves snapped a two-game losing streak on Tuesday, but remain second in the IL South Division by 1.5 games behind Durham (24-17) and second in the IL Wild Card standings by 0.5 games behind Pawtucket (23-18). With a DH sweep tonight, the G-Braves would extend their winning streak at Coca-Cola Field to six games Gwinnett hasn t lost at the home of the Buffalo Bisons since 6/17/13 (5-4 loss). Last Action Heroes: A three-run sixth inning led the G-Braves to a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Bisons in the opener of the series at Coca-Cola Field on Tuesday. Gwinnett fell behind early as LHP Daniel Rodriguez yielded a leadoff solo home run to Darin Mastroianni in the first inning. Buffalo made it 2-0 on an RBI double by Munenori Kawasaki in the fifth inning, but that would be all the damage allowed by Rodriguez (W, 4-3) over 7.0 innings of seven-hit baseball. The G-Braves took the lead in the sixth with three runs off LHP Sean Nolin (L, 2-2). A single by Phil Gosselin (2-for-5, R) and a pair of walks loaded the bases, and RBI singles by Jose Yepez (1-for-4, RBI) and Sean Kazmar (2- for-4, RBI) tied the game. Derrick Mitchell (1-for-3, RBI) plated Edward Salcedo (1-for-3, 3B, R) for the winning run, drawing a bases-loaded walk from RHP John Stilson. LHP Atahualpa Severino (H, 4) and RHP Juan Jaime (S, 9) combined on 2.0 scoreless, one-hit innings to seal the win for Gwinnett. Call it a Comeback: Each of Gwinnett s last four wins have come after the club has trailed through five innings. In addition to Tuesday s comeback win (3 runs in 6 th inning for 3-2 win, erasing 2-0 deficit), the G-Braves have also posted come-from-behind victories on 5/8 vs. Buffalo (4 runs in 6 th inning for 4-3 win, erasing 3-0 deficit), 5/9 at Lehigh Valley (2 runs in 9 th inning for 9-8 win, erasing 8-7 deficit) and 5/10 at Lehigh Valley (3 runs in 11 th inning for 10-8 win, breaking 7-7 tie). The 5/10 game was the club s largest come-from-behind win this season (5-run deficit, trailed 7-2 entering 8 th ). The Only Way is One: With Tuesday s win, the G-Braves are an IL-best 8-4 (.667) in games decided by one run this season. Last year, Gwinnett led all of Minor League Baseball with 59 onerun decisions (24-35,.407, 13 th in IL). Since 2009, the club is 109-121 (.474) in one-run games.
