They will be viewed by the Independence County Annual Farm Bureau meeting attendees that night. The project boards will be viewed by many people so DO YOUR BEST to make them neat and attractive. Only include photos and flat information on your project boards. NO trophies or other personal items. Project boards can be purchased at Wal-Mart. Project Boards show an extension of your project in 4-H. Do not turn in old projects boards that have not been updated or project boards that are not 4-H related. You may pick up your project boards afterwards at the Extension Office. 3rd County Bring your own bike or borrow someone's at B-Day. BB guns for BB Shooting and fishing poles for Bait casting will be furnished so you will NOT be allowed to bring your own. Call Extension Office for additional information on activities. Pre-register for the Broiler Barbecue by Thursday, October 26 th by calling the Extension Office. Only those registering will have a chicken to barbecue. Remember no self-starting charcoal is permitted. If you need information about the Broiler Barbecuing, contact the Extension Office. Guideline for the contest are as follows: *one project 4-H ers will do the same material will be provided. *one project 4-H ers will do one they want. (shorts, pajamas, pants, etc.) You bring pattern, material and all supplies. All sewing will be done at the Extension Office with a standard sewing machine during Sewing Club at 4:15 pm or scheduled time. Cloverbuds 5-8 years Beginners 9-12 years Intermediate 13-15 years Advance 16-19 years You may purchase a Record Book Cover for $2.00 at the Extension Office. 4-H Veterinary Science Field Trip LSU School of Veterinary Medicine January 19th and 20th Open to youth ages 11-19 $150 Registration Fee Register at 4-H Online by December 1st Hurricane Baby Item Drive Kera Nast of the Southside Club is collecting baby items to be sent to the victims of the hurricanes that have hit the United States. The following items can be donated: diapers, wipes, lotion, bath wash, toys, diaper rash, blankets, clothes and formula. Clothing gently used or new. Items may be dropped off to Kera or the Extension Office. FRIEND OF 4-H Don t forget your Friend of 4-H in the month of October. A list is on your stack and I have emailed all leaders. Record Book Workshop November 6th at 6:00 pm Extension Office October is National 4-H Month Please make plans to promote 4-H in your community or school. * Wear your 4-H t-shirt! * Put up a 4-H welcome sign in your community. * Put up flyers promoting your 4-H club meeting and invite a friend to join 4-H. * Ask a business to put National 4-H Month on their sign or marquee. * Promote 4-H by talking to your class or a civic club. * Participate in the Tractor Supply Paper Clover Drive. Encourage your 4-H ers to start re-enrolling on 4honline. Leaders must re-enroll also. Halloween Candy Drive Natasha Hightower of the Diamond T Club is collecting Halloween candy for a remote school in Alaska. Candy is very expensive in the area. You may drop off your collected candy at the Extension Office before Monday, October 16th. Wrapped candy is preferred. Cedar Ridge School Backpack Project Cedar Ridge Club is collecting items for the backpack project at Cedar Ridge School. You may donate the following items: canned vegetables and canned fruit.
