4th Annual Golden Bears Soccer Golf Tournament Thank you for taking the time to consider partnering and participating in the 4th Annual Golden Bears Soccer Golf Tournament. The Golden Bears soccer program has been in existence since 1969 and has achieved five U SPORTS/ CIS/CIAU National Championships (2016, 2006, 2003, 1979 and 1972) and 11 Canada West Championships (2016, 2011, 2003, 1999, 1998, 1995, 1988, 1981, 1979, 1973 and 1972). In total, the Golden Bears have made a total of 1 4 appearances at the U SPORTS/ CIAU/CIS National Championships and have won 11 total medals. This letter has been sent to you or your business on behalf of the University of Alberta Men s Soccer team. We hope that you can find the time to go through the enclosed information about the upcoming golf tournament, which will serve as a fundraiser for the continued support and development of the Golden Bears soccer year round program. Members of the alumni and friends of the program are pulling together to support the current and future men s soccer teams. This event is a way to give back to the program and also re-connect with alumni with whom you may have lost touch with. The tournament will take place on Thursday, August 17th, 2017, at 1pm at Red Tail Landing Golf Club, located on Highway 2, just south of the city. The tournament will be a Texas Scramble format with a dinner to follow. With your help as a registrant and/or sponsor, the Golden Bears men s soccer team will benefit greatly, with funds being allocated to the recruitment of top calibre players, travel costs, training equipment, and the improvement of soccer specific facilities.
