II. Contest Flow All Contest Rules and Regulations from the 2013 T.E.C.A Constitution and Bi-Laws and the 2016 WGI Rule Book will be followed. Check In: The check-in table will be located on the east side of the school (in the entrance by the flagpole) on Raider Drive. Performers, crew, and directors will receive a stamp or wristband to distinguish participants from spectators. You will be pre-assigned a table for which to store your equipment and will be assigned a Student Host that will walk you through all phases of the show. Concessions will be available to your unit. Please Note: Outside food or drink will not be allowed inside the school. Students are NOT allowed to spin in the cafeteria. If you need extra equipment warm-up, you may do so outside. Equipment Inspection At this point all equipment will be inspected. All props, performance shoes, and equipment must be padded and taped according to the TECA and WGI rule book specifications. Please refer to the 2016 WGI Color Guard and Adjudication Manual and Rule Book. Maps of the school and performance times will be available in the director s packet at the check-in table. Guard, Crew, and Staff Admission Performing members and crew members will need to check in at the check-in table when they arrive on campus. Admission will be given to all performing members, 3 directors plus 10 student crew members. Official Photo Lifetouch National School Studios will be taking group and candid photos throughout the day. Group photos will be taken prior to your performance time. Each unit will be led to the camera area for the photo. From the photo, the unit will proceed to the warm up areas. Body Warm-up, Equipment Warm-up, and Performance Notes Body Warm up will be in the Bandhall. Students may stretch or do body type of run throughs. No equipment will be utilized during this segment of the official warm up time. After body warm up, your guard will be led to the warm up gym and be placed in holding until their equipment warm-up time starts. A sound system will be made available to you if you need one. After your equipment warm-up, your guard will be led to the performance area. You will be placed in holding until your official set up and performance time starts.

A strict limit of 10 air grams per unit will be enforced to keep the contest on time. WE WILL BE UTILIZING A HORIZONTAL CENTER LINE FLOW FOR THE PERFORMANCE AREA. From the audience perspective, you will enter back left and exit front left. Guard Entrance Guard Exit Spectator Entrance Audience/Judges Post-Performance After you exit the performance area, staff members will need to make sure that all of their equipment is put away, then proceed to the sound table and pick up your recording(s). There will be two retreats throughout the day. The first retreat (for cadet and novice groups) will occur after the end of the novice units and the second retreat (for regional, scholastic, and national groups) will occur after the end of the national units. Students will need to start their retreat line up in the warm up area after the last unit of their classification of the afternoon/evening. Retreat will follow the last performing group. (Instructors may need to help with the line-up of their students) There will be NO CRITIQUE at the 2016 TECA State Championships. Video Taping/Recording: To comply with Federal Copyright Laws, each unit may have only one person recording their performance. Recording will only be allowed within a designated area and will only be allowed for your unit s performance. Recording will not be allowed of any other unit or performance. T.E.C.A. will provide a Director s DVD of their respective unit in Championship performance which will be mailed to the directors address. Please refrain from posting video of your performance on YouTube, Facebook, etc

Glitter No glitter of any kind will be carried out onto the floor. This includes, but is not limited to, glitter in the performers hands, small containers, glitter in flags or glitter in any device that is used to toss, throw, or project glitter. There will be no exceptions. This goes for performances as well as retreat! Spectators/School Bus Parking Spectators can park on the north side of the campus (entrance is on Nolana) and if more parking is necessary, they can park on south or east parking lots. School buses/trailers/trucks can park on south parking lot, which is located near the bandhall. If additional parking is still needed, there is a field ACROSS the school. See Map for more details. III. Admission (spectators) Unit Contest Students $6.00 (must have valid student ID) Adult $12.00 IV. Concessions Concessions will be available all day. Outside food or drink will not be allowed inside the school at any time during the day. A Pre-ordered Meal Plan is being offered at a discount price. If you are interested in ordering meals for your group, please complete the attached form. The deadline for pre-ordering the meal deals is April 1, 2016. (Please see attached order form) V. Souvenirs and other stuff Outside vendors will be selling their souvenirs, so bring your extra $$$$!!!! VI.
