MONTHLY ACTIVITIES Monthly activities are held at 923 Migeon Avenue and are accessible. BINGO: Monthly on Wednesday evenings - Time: 6:15pm to 7:45pm - Dates: January 9 February 6 March 6 - Enjoy multiple games of bingo with friends! Everyone wins. - Refreshments are served at 7:30pm. GAMES: Monthly on Friday evenings - Time: 6:15pm to 7:45pm - Dates: January 11 February 8 March 8 - Many table games are available to play along with wii. - Refreshments are served at 7:15pm. Cost: $ 10.00 each session Cost: $ 5.00 each session CRAFT: Twice a month on Tuesdays Cost: $15.00 each session - Not accessible due to transportation in the afternoon - Pickups at LARC Vocational Sites (Zeller Tire and Putter Lane) and TEU - Time: 2:15pm 4:30pm - Date: January 8 January 22 February 5 February 19 - Create two seasonal crafts to take home. Please bring a bag to carry your crafts home. Rides home after the movie. No extra money is needed. Anyone living in the Winsted area will have alternate site for drop-off. Sunday, January 27, 2019 Railroad Show Cost: $45.00 Time:9:00am to 2:30pm Not accessible Huge train layouts throughout 4 buildings at the Eastern States Exposition. Some layouts are as large as your workplace, with many tracks and sceneries. Lunch will be at McDonald s on the way home. Bring money for a purchase. Anyone living in Winsted area will have alternate site for drop-off and pick up. TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY Sunday, February 10, 2019 Thomaston Opera House Cost: $50.00 Time: 1:15pm 5:45pm A Sunday afternoon at Thomaston Opera House to see Great American Trailer Park a new musical. I have not seen it. Refreshments are provided at intermission. No extra money is needed. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 Movie Out Cost $38.00 Time: 5:00pm 8:30pm An evening out to Apple Cinemas with dinner first at McDonald s- refreshments at the theater. Rides home after the movie. No extra money is needed. Anyone living in the Winsted area will have alternate site for drop-off. Saturday, February 16, 2019 Harlem Globetrotters Cost $65.00 Time 12:30pm 5:30pm Not accessible An afternoon of laughter at XL Center in Hartford, CT. The Harlem Globetrotter Basketball team against the New Jersey Generals. Refreshments will be provided. No extra money is needed. TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH Saturday, March 16, 2019 New England Airplane Museum Cost: $48.00 Time: 9:30am to 3:00pm See a variety of airplanes from bi-planes to fighter jets in Windsor Locks. Helicopters / hot air balloons and if the weather is nice, we will go outside to see 10 more airplanes. Lunch will be at McDonald s in Windsor. Bring money for a purchase in the gift shop. Anyone living in Winsted area will have alternate site for drop-off and pick up.

Sunday, March 17, 2019 Pancake Breakfast Cost: $36.00 Time: 9:30am 2:00pm Not accessible A Sunday drive to Maple Corner Farm in Granville, MA. Pancakes galore with their own maple syrup. We will walk over to the Sap house to see how the sap becomes the tastiest maple syrup. Bring money to purchase Maple Syrup or a Jelly. After the pancakes, we will stop by Otis Ski Area to watch the skiers. Anyone living in Winsted area will have alternate site for drop-off and pick up. Saturday, March 23, 2019 Mohegan Sun Casino Cost: $62.00 Time: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm A whole day at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Play the slots have lunch either at Johnny Rockets or Chick-Fil-A. Drinks at Krispy Kreme. Bring only $20.00 to play the slots. ************************************************************************************** SPECIAL OLYMPICS WINTER GAMES Practices for all start January 2019 LARC Special Olympics Cross Country Ski Team need own equipment Snow shoeing Team need own equipment Practices will be starting on Saturday January 5 th from 10am 11:30am each Saturday. WINTER BOWLING LEAGUE Starts on Monday January 7, 2019 to Monday March 11, 2019 At Thomaston Lanes 9 week session: Cost: $54.00 Payment will be due on Wednesday December 26, 2018 for the Winter session. Check payable to: Thomaston Lanes Please listen to WZBG: if LARC is closed for the day, there will not be transportation and staffing at the bowling alley. That date will be rescheduled. TRANSPORTATION: There will be limited transportation (six seats available) Cost: $18.00 ($2.00 per week x 9 weeks) Separate check payable to: LARC Recreation You will be notified by December 27, if you are on the waiting list for transportation. Leaves 923 Migeon Avenue at 4:20pm and returns to Migeon Avenue at 6:50pm. SAVE THE SPRING BOWLING DATES: Spring session: Monday, April 1 st through Monday, June 10 th (10 weeks).
