PO Box 303 Berlin WI 54923 Website: berlincc.org President s Page Happy New Year to you all! I hope this correspondence finds you in good health and ready for another great year for Berlin Conservation Club! A lot of our members have been busy with the remodel of the clubhouse as well as the maintenance of our traps. With this I must take a moment to thank a few that were forgotten in the last newsletter, they are Reid Crump, George Stolfus, Gene Thom, and Mark Hodge, who keep our trap throwers in tip top shape. I also want to mention the morning crew which not only keeps the club presentable but also keep the trap houses full. Just a FYI they are always looking for more help. Also, for those who help to keep the grounds looking good Larry and Corey, are always hard at work. Looking at the year ahead we are in for an awesome ride as not only are we again hosting numerous scheduled shoots but will for the first time be hosting the Northeast Wisconsin Zone ATA registered shoot. This event will be held May 31st through June 2 nd, we ll need plenty of volunteer help. Please if you have some time contact Don Konen, Tyler Thoma, or me. Your help will be much appreciated, and will also help get that full work card for either pheasants of shooting cards. With the new year comes the kick off for the winter trap league. Thanks to mother nature our winter league has not been too bad. This year we have added concrete to the shooting pads which can be cleared quickly and have our shooters walking on pavement versus walking through snow piles. Make sure to share your compliments of this up grade with the SDGJ Construction company and the rest who worked feverously to accomplish this prior to hunting season. Hope to see many of you out on the range to knock off the rust and enjoy some good times during the dismal months of winter. Dave and the crew always put on a top shelf program. If outside shooting is not your thing how about inside with our archery league. Dave and Donna Polzin have been down at the club rebuilding the targets for yet another year. Special thanks to Berlin Buckskin as they donated scrap leather which will be added to some of the targets to gain some life out of them. This league is on Wednesdays and is always looking for more teams. Grab a few friends and get out of the house and enjoy the display of changing courses set up each week. A quick reminder to pick up your banquet tickets soon as this will also give you a bonus of a 2019 membership to the club. Remember we have a limited number of tickets for sale as

Pres. Page Cont. well as an early bird ticket purchase. Last year was nice to see an uptick in attendance, which I believe can be surpassed this year. The committee is always looking to make this banquet better as it is one of our biggest fund raisers to keep improvement projects moving forward. These banquets take time and people. Please take some time to donate to the banquet or at least reach out to some friends and invite them to attend. Remember the more the merrier! In closing I would like to take this time to thank my board for a trying year in which we accomplished a lot. Great job to all, for some of us this will be our last obligation to the board as we will be looking at board elections at the March membership meeting. We will have 3 positions open. If you are interested please contact a board member about your chance to direct this club into the future. Please remember this is not my club this is our club and it will move on to bigger and better things with your involvement and input. Once again Happy New Year All let s make it a great year! See you on the line, Respectfully, Gary Witzke- President 920-204-1329 gwitzke@outlook.com Making Renovations at the Club Target Terminators Parents and athletes for the Target Terminators we will be having a meeting Saturday, January the 19 th at 1pm at the BCC club. Things to be discussed will be the coaching staff and requirements for the upcoming season. Please pass this info on to some of the younger shooters as we will be trying to build up our pre-sub group as well as our junior group. Contact Gary Witzke at 920-204-1329 with questions. CWYTL Also remember that CWYTL sign up starts March 9 th. If kids or parents are unsure of the commitment of Terminators at the least get them involved in this group. Amy Thoma and all the coaches do a great job mentoring these kids, and parents with the new viewing area in the clubhouse. No more standing in the cold, LOL! I look forward to a great upcoming season of competition and togetherness. Contact Amy Thoma with questions at 920-229-5288.
