The overspeed governor is configured at the factory for the speed of the Elevator required by the customer (from 0,4 m/s till 2,5 m/s), and is sealed after that. 119 OG Moment 250 MRL/1 Overspeed governor with bi-directional action for MRL elevators with installation on the rail guide The overspeed governor is designed for operation with rope diameter of 6 mm. The maximum force generated on the overspeed governor rope 300N. The overspeed governor is configured at the factory for the speed of the Elevator required by the customer (from 0,4 m/s till 2,5 m/s), and is sealed after that. 6

1. Description and principle of operation The overspeed governor is the safety device of elevator, and it is designed for the safety gear activation. When the elevator cabin (counterweight) while moving up or down exceed the permissible rated speed until the maximum speed of the overspeed governor activation, the overspeed governor switches on and through the rope activates the safety gear. The overspeed governora 115 OG Moment 250 MRL, 119 OG Moment 250 MRL/1, 113 OG Моment 250 MR, 114 OG Moment 250 A3 have the same principle of operation, they have the same mechanical part, and they differ only in the way of control: by hand or remote. These overspeed governors are the OG of inertial type. The OG consists of: Base pos.1, axle with bearings pos.2, the main sheave pos.3, rocking device pos.4, springs pos.5, slab board pos.6, springs speed settings pos.7, small sheave Ø120mm pos.8, hook pos.9, locking plate pos.10, element for centering of locking plate pos.11, casing pos.12, switch pos.13, the locking mechanism pos.14. On the base pos.1 is fixed the sheave pos. 3 through the axis pos.2. On the sheave pos.3 through the axle on each side are fixed the hooks pos. 9. The springs pos.7 are fixed to the hooks pos.9, tension of which leads to regulation of speed, at which the overspeed governor activates. The setting of the springs is held at the factory, then they are closed with the plates pos.6 and sealed. Also, on the sheave pos.3 the rocking device pos.4 is fixed. On the back side of the sheave pos.6 is fixed the small sheave pos.8, which is designed for testing the overspeed governor at its rated speed. The diameter of small pulley is 120 mm. 7

The overspeed governor activates through the rope, which passes through the sheave. When the rated speed of elevator excesses the sheave of overspeed governor pos.3 spins faster. In this case the hooks pos.9, due to the centripetal force are deflected to the edges, overcoming the spring tension pos.7. At achievement the maximum speed of operation, the hooks diverge so, that ledges clinging to the locking plate pos.10, located at the base pos.1. The locking plate pos.10 has the possibility to rotate at a certain angle to a full stop on the grooves on the base pos.1. At the moment of rotation, the locking plate presses on the switch pos.13, which breaks the safety chain until the sheave will be locked pos.3. Tin order to test the traction abilities of the groove of the main sheave it is necessary to press on the locking mechanism pos.14. This mechanism will block the rocking device pos.4, which in turn will block the sheave pos.3. When the force will be removed from the mechanism pos.14 the spring will return it to its original position. Features of overspeed governors for MRL elevators The difference of models: 115 OG Moment 250 MRL, 119 OG Moment 250 MRL/1 from 113 OG Моment 250 MR is that instead of hand locking mechanism pos.14 in this variant the electromagnet is used, which pushes stock and is controlled remotely. Also on the switch pos.13 one more electromagnet is fixed pos.15, which effects on the roller switch pos.13, returning it to its original position. Features of overspeed governors with A3 system The difference of the model 114 OC Moment 250 A3 from 113 ОС Моment 250 MR is that it is additionally equipped with an electromagnet pos.16. While the cabin is moving on the electromagnet pos.16 the voltage is served and the stock is in pulled position. At any stop of the Elevator cabin from the electromagnet pos.16 tension is released and the spring pushes the stock, which blocks the sheave pos.3 of the overspeed governor. The stock position is controlled by the switch pos.17. 2. The overspeed governor installation 8

The overspeed governor should be installed in accordance with the requirements of Assembly drawing. The installation work is allowed only trained in this area staff. Before the installation it is necessary to make sure that the overspeed governors meets the required source data: the speed, the rope diameter. It is necessary also to make sure that there are no visible defects. 2.1 The installation of overspeed governors: 113 OG Моment 250 MR 115 OG Moment 250 MRL 114 OG Moment 250 A3 1. To set the overspeed governor above the windows in such way, that the point of the rope runout from the main sheave and the point of the rope fixing to the lever of the locking mechanism of the overspeed governors on the cabin, was on the same vertical line and the deviation should be no more than 5 mm. Also by overspeed governor installation is necessary that the angle between the sheave axis and the vertical was no more than 3. If this angle is more than 3, it may lead to uneven wear of the overspeed governor sheave and of the rope, that may lead to incorrect operation of overspeed governor or loss of functionality. If necessary, align the overspeed governor by means of gaskets. 2. To mark the point of drilling, to make drilling the holes and install the dowels. To install the overspeed governor by means of respective bolts in the predrilled holes with dowels. It is allowed to use the welding instead of dowels, in case of the presence of the embedded parts in the machine room. 3. To cut the rope with sufficient reserve and to put in a working groove of wedge-shaped cross section of the overspeed governor. Attention!!! The overspeed governor is configured to the desired speed at the factory. The adjusting mechanism is sealed. No additional configuration is required. 2.2 The overspeed governor installation 119 OG Moment 250 MRL/1 1. To fix the overspeed governor on the rail guide by means of 6 clamps (not included in the package) so, that the point of the rope runout from the main sheave and the point of the rope fixing to the lever of the locking mechanism of the safety devices activation, was on the same vertical line and the deviation should be no more than 5 mm. 2. To cut the rope with sufficient reserve and to put in a working groove of wedge-shaped cross section of the overspeed governor. 9

Attention!!! The overspeed governor is configured to the desired speed at the factory. The adjusting mechanism is sealed. No additional configuration is required. 3. Checking of the overspeed governor efficiency 1. To throw the rope of the overspeed governor from the working sheave on the small sheave, this simulates the increase of speed, it gives possibility to check the settings of the overspeed governor at the rated speed of the elevator cabin moving. When there is a frequency inverter on the main drive of the Elevator it is allowed not to use a small sheave for this test, and the elevator acceleration until the overspeed governor activation is realized by means of frequency inverter of the main drive. 2. To check the tension of the overspeed governor rope. If the tension is insufficient, the rope should be pulled additionally by means of adjustable tension device. 3. To start the elevator cabin on the rated speed. 4. The overspeed governor needs to interrupt the electrical circuit of the Elevator safety work and to operate. 3.1 Checking the traction ability of the overspeed governor nahdle. 1. To check the tension of the overspeed governor rope. If the tension is insufficient, the rope should be pulled additionally by means of adjustable tension device. 2. To start the elevator cabin down on the rated speed. 3. For overspeed governor 113OGМоment250MR 114OGMoment250A3 3. For overspeed governor 115OGМоment250MRL 119OGMoment250MRL/1 Click on the lock button pos.14, the overspeed governor in this case should work. Remotely to activate the electromagnet pos.14, the overspeed governor should work in this case. In case of refusal of overspeed governor actuation its further operation until the determination of the reasons is prohibited. Check the correctness of overspeed governor installation, its mounting and location, and also the correctness of the mounting and location of the tension device. If the reason of the failure is not found, the overspeed governor should be send for checking on the address of the company Metroplast During operational checks the people presence in the cabin is prohibited. 10
