Alberta is one of the Prairie Provinces and the fourth largest province in Canada. Bounded on the west by British Columbia and the East by Saskatchewan, Alberta is home to over 3.2 million people most of who live in the two largest cities, Edmonton and Calgary. Alberta is the main producer of oil and natural gas in Canada and also a top producer of wheat, oats, canola and barley. Dairy farms and cattle ranches are numerous in the flat prairie areas and southern foothills. With its diverse landscape and topography including mountains, foothills, plains, and boreal forest, Alberta offers excellent hunting opportunities for Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Moose, Elk, Black Bear, and Wolves.
We have secured some of the best hunting areas within the province for each of the species we hunt. We want our hunters to have great hunts, and that starts with doing everything possible to create opportunities for quality trophies!! Whitetail Deer The ultimate challenge for the serious trophy hunter is the cunning and elusive Whitetail Deer. Hunting huge whitetails at the peak of the rut is every hunter's dream. Our moose hunts methods include a combination of calling, tree stands, spot and stalk. There are natural mineral licks and watering holes in our hunting area which provide excellent opportunities to see trophy moose during your hunt. We offer both archery and rifle hunts. We take great pride in offering our hunters an opportunity at trophy bulls, and to offer an unequaled hunting experience. Our moose hunts start in late September and run until the end of October. Bison (Buffalo) hunting is is a demanding and extreme hunt. It is a physical hunt (some have called it the toughest hunt they have done) but the rewards are worth it. We offer one on one guided Bison Hunts. One of the few places you can hunt wild, free-ranging buffalo is in Alberta. Most of these buffalo live within the unfenced boundaries of Wood Buffalo National Park, right beside WMU 540 where we operate and may be hunted. This is an excellent fair chase hunt!! We hunt in March when temperatures range from -30 F to 40 F. With the sun rising at about 7:30 am and setting at about 6:00 pm, you will log a lot of hours on a snowmobile. (provided by us) Distances of 10-60 miles may be travelled per day on the snowmobiles. Bison usually appear when you least expect them, so being alert is a must. A Bison has a shaggy, long, dark brown winter coat, and a lighter weight, lighter brown summer coat. Bison can reach up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall, 3 meters (10 feet) long, and weigh 400 kilograms
(882 lb) to 1,000 kilograms (2,205 pounds). As typical in ungulates, the male bison is slightly larger. The biggest specimens on record have weighed as much as 1,133 kilograms (2,500 lb). The heads and forequarters are massive, and both sexes have short, curved horns, which they use in fighting for status within the herd and for defense.
