State to the second round of the NIT as a senior in 2004 will long be remembered as one of the most exciting players in Florida State men s basketball history and the preeminent building block in Head Coach Leonard Hamilton s mission of making the Seminoles a program of significance in college basketball to a two-time All-ACC selection First-Team in 2004 and Second-Team in 2003 joined only All-American Bob Sura in 1994 as the only two Florida State players to earn All-ACC First-Team honors in school history a two-time All-ACC Defensive Team selection by both the coaches and the media in both 2003 and 2004 totaled 164 steals in only two years at the Division I level and closed his career ranked tied for second in ACC history with a 2.64 steals per game average he is tied with NC State s Chris Corchiani and ranks behind only Maryland s Johnny Rhodes his 164 steals ranks as the seventh highest career total in school history while his 2.64 career steals per game average is the school record finished 33 rd on Florida State s all-time scoring list with 1,038 career points averaged 16.7 points per game during his 62-game career as he started every game of his Florida State career his 16.7 points per game career average is tied for the 17 th -best career average in school history ranks fourth in school history with 194 career 3-points shots made and third in school history with 529 career 3-point shots attempted shot.367 from the field for his two-year career the second best career percentage in school history his single-game career-high six 3-point shots made seven times during his career ranks as the seventh-best single game effort in school history finished second in school history with a.814 free throw shooting percentage for his two-year career his.865 free throw shooting percentage as a junior is the fifth highest single-season percentage in school history averaged 19.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals against the 15 ranked teams on Florida State s schedule during his senior season averaged in double figures against all eight ACC opponents during his junior and senior seasons at Florida State averaged 16.3 points per game during 32 career conference games named the Seminoles Most Valuable Player by Leonard Hamilton and his staff during both of his two years at Florida State originally signed with South Carolina after his first year at Indian River in 2001 but had his transfer denied by the Southeastern Conference the SEC mandates players must complete at least three consecutive semesters at an institution before being allowed to enroll in a conference school a consensus top-50 national junior college player prior to his arrival at Florida State for the 2002-03 season sat out one year between Indian River and Daytona Beach and did not play organized basketball AS A SENIOR (2004): All-America Honorable Mention and All-ACC First-Team selection as he led the ACC and ranked third in the nation with a singleseason career-high 110 3-point shots made only the second player in school history to earn All-ACC First-Team Honors Bob Sura was the first in 1994 averaged 16.5 points (first on the team), 4.5 rebounds (second) and 2.5 steals (first) while shooting.433 from the field and.407 from the 3-point line ranked third nationally in total 3-point field goals made (110), 10 th nationally in 3-point field goals made per game (3.3), tied for 10 th nationally in total steals (82) and 18 th nationally in steals per game (2.5 spg) ranked first in 3-point field goals made, first in 3-point field goals made per game, second in total steals, second in steals per game, third in 3-point field goal percentage, fourth in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage and 25 th in rebounds per game in a career high 33 games as a senior finished fifth in the ACC Player of the Year balloting received the third highest vote total in the balloting for the All- ACC teams earned ACC Player of the Week honors twice as a senior and three times during his two year career as a Seminoles only the second player (also Bob Sura) to earn ACC POW honors three times during his career the first player in school history to be named to the All-ACC Defensive Team and earned the honor in both 2003 and 2004 his 543 points as a senior ranks as the 22 nd highest single-season scoring total in school history his 110 3-point shots made as a senior is the second highest single-season total in school history and trails only George McCloud s 115 3-point shots made during the 1989 season his 270 3-point field goals attempted in 2004 is the highest single-season total in school history shot.407 from 3-point range as a senior which ranks as the sixth-best single-season 3-point field goal shooting percentage in school history he is one of only 10 players in school history to shoot 40 percent or above from the 3-point line in a single season recorded at least one steal in 30 of Florida State s 33 games improbable performance against Wichita State in the first round of the NIT on the road with 25 points including a twisting, triple-pumping 3-pointer to send the game into overtime after the Seminoles trailed by as many as 12 in the second half Florida State won the game in double overtime to ranks as the programs first post-season victory since 1998 led Florida State in scoring 18 times and earned game-high scoring honors 14 times in 33 games during his senior season tied his personal single-game career-high and the Seminoles single-game ACC record with six 3-point shots made against Georgia Tech (Feb. 3), Duke (Feb. 29) and against NC State in the ACC Tournament (March 12) totaled his fifth career double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds against Duke in Durham during his senior season (Jan. 29) second half performance against Miami (Dec. 14) with all 12 of his points in the second 20 minutes to lead the Seminoles to the comefrom-behind 67-58 win over the future ACC member Hurricanes (against Clemson) averaged a team leading 12.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.5 steals in two games against Clemson scored 15 first-half points (16 total) to lead the Seminoles past the Tigers in Tallahassee (Feb. 14) his 15 first-half points came on five field goals (four from 3-point range) in 13 minutes and staked the Seminoles to a 35-26 halftime lead despite being held to one point in the second half, he played 17 minutes and held Florida State outscore Clemson, 30-26, to gain the 65-52 victory totaled eight points, two steals and two 3-point field goals made as Florida State played at Clemson (Jan. 13) (against Duke) averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in two games against ACC regular season champion and NCAA semifinalist Duke scored 24 points, pulled down five rebounds, dished out three assists and had one blocked shot in nearly leading Florida State to the upset of No. 5 ranked Duke in Tallahassee (Feb. 29) tied his own personal career-high with six 3-point shots made (including four in the second half) as he nearly rallied the Seminoles from as many as eight down in the second half to as close as four with 17 seconds

remaining scored 16 second-half points and tied the game twice during the final 20 minutes with a lay-up with 15:04 remaining (to tie the score at 40-40) and a 3-point shot with 11:59 remaining (to tie the score at 45) scored his fifth career double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds and nearly willed the Seminoles past the Blue Devils in Durham (Jan. 29) totaled nine points, four rebounds and two steals as Florida State clawed its way back from a 34-22 (- 12 point) deficit in one of the nation s toughest place to play college basketball began a 15-7 run to close the game with two free throws at the 7:21 mark to pull the Seminoles to within 49-36 had three points and two rebounds during the remainder of the game as Florida State pulled to within two at 51-49 with 1:05 remaining pulled down his season high of 10 defensive rebounds against the Blue Devils (against Georgia Tech) averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals against NCAA Tournament runner-up Georgia Tech Seminoles gain the 79-75 victory on national television scored Florida State s first basket of the second half (on the Seminoles first possession) and Florida State s first six points of the half to Florida State to an improbable 90-81 victory over No. 7 ranked North Carolina in Tallahassee (Jan. 22) scored eight first half points, 16 in the second half and six in the overtime period as he rallied Florida State from as many as 24 down in the first half to gain the win it ranks as the greatest comeback in school history after falling behind 42-18 (-24 with 5:38 remaining in the first half), the Seminoles outscored the Tar Heels 72-39 over the final 30:38 of the game including 43-29 in the second half and 12-3 in the overtime period the Seminoles shot.559 for the game --.538 (14-of-26) in the first half,.517 (15-of-29) in the second half and a perfect 1.000 (four-of-four) in the overtime period Pickett made eight field goals (three from 3-point range) and 11 free throws in Florida State s victory over North Carolina in the last five minutes of the second half he made a lay-up to cut the Seminoles deficit to three at 71-74, two free throws to again cut the deficit to three at 73-76 and two more free throws to cut the Tar Heels lead to three again at 75-78 during the overtime period he made a 3-pointer to put Florida State up five at 83-78, a jumper to put the Seminoles up seven at 85-78 and a free throw to put the Seminoles ahead 90-81 with 17 seconds left in the contest was nearly as impressive against the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill (Feb. 21) as he scored 25 points, pulled down nine rebounds, earned five assists, four steals and two blocked shots as he nearly willed the Seminoles back from as much as an 18-point deficit in the second half against the season-high 11 rebounds as Florida State traveled to Charlottesville (Jan. 18) also scored nine points as Florida State defeated Virginia in Tallahassee (Feb. 17) (against Wake Forest) averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in two games against NCAA Tournament participant Wake Forest incredible second half of 18 points to lead Florida State to its 75-70 victory over No. 10 Wake Forest in Tallahassee (Jan. 25) stunning second-half performance came after his was held scoreless in the first half and helped Florida State outscore Wake Forest, 39-33, over the final 20 minutes of play to help the Seminoles to the 75-70 victory over their second top-10 team in two games for the first time in school history after making zero field goals in the first half he was six-of-11 from the field and three steals nearly guided the Seminoles to a win in Winston- Salem (Feb. 25) scored 16 first half points as the Seminoles raced to a 47-34 lead after the first 20 minutes made five 3-point field goals in the game as Florida State unfortunately fell in overtime to the top-10 rankled Deacons (in the NIT against Wichita State and Iowa State) averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals against Wichita State and Iowa State in the NIT an amazing 25-point, seven rebound, four assist, two steals performance to lead Florida State past the Shockers in the first round of the NIT scored 18 points in the second half and two overtime periods to lead the Seminoles to the win most amazing shot was his triple-pump, twisting 3-point shot with six seconds remaining in regulation which sent the
