While O Reilly stifled the Travs bats, C Andrew Knizner provided an early lead for the Cardinals with a solo home run in the 4 th. Arkansas broke through with three runs in the 6 th, before an RBI sac fly from 3B Evan Mendoza and an RBI single from Knizner in the bottom of the 6 th tied it at 3-3. However, Arkansas swung right back in front with four runs in the 7 th, including a two-run double from 1B Dario Pizzano, opening the 7-3 lead, which would end up going final. All-Star Cards The Texas League has announced the rosters for the 2018 Texas League All-Star Game, with seven Springfield Cardinals selected to the North Division Team in OF Lane Thomas, OF Victor Roache, INF Tommy Edman, RHP Connor Jones and RHP Jake Woodford, along with RHP Chris Ellis and RHP Conner Greene, both of whom are in AAA-Memphis. The All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26 in Midland. Steady Eddy INF Tommy Edman singled twice on Thursday to extend his on-base streak to 27 games, the 3 rd -longest on-base streak in the league this year, which included a 10-game hitting streak from 5/29-6/8. The San Diego, CA native has hits in 24 of those 27 games, tallying a.348 average (39x112) with three homers, 11 RBIs, six doubles and 21 runs during his excellent stretch, increasing his average from.239 to.284 since 5/21. Increasingly aggressive on the bases of late, he has swiped 10 bags in his last 16 games without being caught once, going 14-for-16 in steals this year. In June alone, Edman is hitting.382 (29x76) with one homer, four doubles, five RBIs and 13 runs in 19 games, going 10-for-10 swiping bases. Knizner connects C Andrew Knizner extended a three-game hitting streak with three hits, including a home run, on Thursday night. After going 2x19 in his first seven games back from AAA-Memphis (6/9-6/16), he has gone 5x12 through his last three games. The Richmond, VA native has enjoyed facing the Travs all season, hitting.431 (22x51) with two homers, four doubles and nine RBIs in 14 games against Arkansas this year. More from Mendoza After a terrific four games in Tulsa, including a 3x4 performance on Wednesday, 3B Evan Mendoza continued a five-game hitting streak with a base hit on Thursday. With an RBI in four of the five games in the streak, he is hitting.400 (8x20) with two doubles and five RBIs. The 21 year old has now hit safely in 20 of his last 24 games, batting.318 (28x88) with two homers, four doubles, one triple and 14 RBIs. What a relief RHP Ramon Santos came up big out of the bullpen on Tuesday night, dealing 4.1 perfect innings with 13 straight batters retired, five of which went down on strikeouts. Through his first five outings in June, he has gone 0-0 with a 3.09 ERA, allowing just four earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out 12 in 11.2 innings. Saving the day After earning his third save of the season with a perfect 9 th inning last Monday, RHP Yeison Medina logged his eighth straight scoreless outing with 2.1 shutout frames on Thursday, a scoreless streak that covers 9.0 innings and started on June 1.
