The majority of the service provided consists of breeding soundness evaluations of the bulls and herd health consultation. Herd problems are minimized with a good vaccination program and excellent management. Heifer and bull calves are vaccinated in the spring and again at weaning with Bovi- Shield Gold One Shot and Ultrabac 7/Somubac (the comprehensive Zoetis calf vaccine program to protect against pneumonia, BVD and Clostridial diseases). At weaning the bull calves also receive Fusogard to protect against footrot. The cow herd receives a scourprevention vaccine (Scourbos 9) prior to calving as well as a vaccine designed to protect against pneumonia and BVD in the calves (Cattlemaster Gold FP5) and Tasvax-8. The breeding of beef cattle is a long, slow process 2-3-4 years later from choosing breeding stock to realize the benefits. If the results follow the leading information put forward. There will certainly be a recognized demand for the Cudlobe influence carcass program as well as the balanced performance factors.
