Pearland Elite Cheer 2016-2017 Show Team Packet
Program Rules and Regulations At Pearland Elite Training Center we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and love the sport of cheerleading. The process of training should be fun! However, practices are hard work and hard work is not always fun. The following expectations must be followed in order to get the most out of your practices and be the best you can be. What is a show team? A show team or exhibition team, as it is sometimes referred to, is a team made up of beginning cheerleaders that perform at competitions rather than compete. They wear a complete uniform just like the competitive teams and are absolutely adorable when they perform. How often do they practice? Show team will practice once a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6:30pm during the summer and on Mondays from 5-6:30pm What do they learn? The coaches focus on teaching the athletes basic motor skills as well as cheerleading skills such as motions, jumps and dance along with beginning tumbling and stunting skills. They will work on how to focus and pay attention for an hour as well as how to take direction in a controlled environment. In addition, they will learn a choreographed cheer routine that they will perform at competitions. The most important thing is for them to have fun and fall in love with cheer. How long is the season? The season lasts from November 2016 through March 2017.
