I ve been teaching all over the place, and it seems like there was a demo every weekend! I just did a spinning demo with the Weaver s Guild and gained two prospective students from it WOW Just this week before meeting Maria and I are were in Pine Mountain Club with me teaching Chrysanthemum Lace. I swear I m busier than I was before I retired. Here s a helpful hint for your lacemaking: When you re doing a row of in Torchon Lace, let s say: cloth stitch, bring your passives to your weaver instead of the opposite. It s easier to tension that way. Well, there you go, I ll see you all on the 17 th Keep lacing, Sylvia Freeway Lace Guild 5 Yard Club Challenge is here! Get those bobbins moving; are you next to receive the certificate and commemorative bobbin?? Congratulations, Susan B. newest 5 yd. club member

A copy of the account will be sent to Lynn Oliver so she can double-check the accounting and to have a second person have the information. $100.00 was received from Precilla Hawthorne s Family in her memory. General Information and Comments: Could the Freeway Lace Guild put together a teaching/demonstration for Costume Convention (Costume College) at one of their meetings? At the demonstration at Homestead Museum, it was evident that FLG needs to have a Flyer for those who come up to the booth and request more information. It was suggested that local Colleges be notified of Freeway Lace Guild s Lace Day and Demonstrations. The Meeting was called to a close by Sylvia Fellows at 11:08am. Submitted by: William W. June Program Lia Baumeister design of Schneeberg Peacock with Maria Provencher Original size about 4 ½ by 4 inches You should use a cookie or block pillow 18 inches or larger is great. Materials- Original size used DMC 80 or equivalent like Venus, Majestic or? You may also use Lizbeth 40 but then the pattern will be about 6 inches 3 pairs with one color for the Schneeberg edge with about 3 yards per bobbin 4 other pairs of your choice. One can be a metallic. These should have 1 1/2 yards per bobbin. Miniature Peacock was made with 50 sewing thread. This one only takes four pairs and measures less than 2 inches see the pic. Might fit in a watch case or larger brooch. Main color should have 2 plus yards per bobbin, while the other pairs only needs about 30 inches per bobbin You do not have to have four colors I used two peacock blue, one dark blue in Madeira Cotona 50 and one Metallic 40 Cotona (like we use in Milanese with Louise) Choose your colors to suit your taste you can add a fifth color on a fifth pair to have a darker body What you can learn in this class: How to do the Schneeberg tape How to adjust the pattern for different size thread How to adjust colors in the tape We will not do the feet in class or the inner filling as there is not enough time but our library book does show how this is done. Sunshine Report: Kathy Hensel, making progress- looking forward to her next big adventure! Her address is: P.O. Box 825, Marcvola, OR 97454-0825.
