An invitation is extended to all eligible figure skaters to participate in the 2018 Skate Ontario Sectional Series Paris Autumn Skate. Skate Canada rules and regulations will apply throughout the competition unless otherwise specified. REGISTRATION: Registration for this event is an online submission and must be completed in full, including payment and program music upload. Registrants must also acknowledge and agree to all policies listed in the cart for the entry to be finalized Please have the following ready before registering: Skate Canada number (or USFSA number) Category Information Partner s name, Skate Canada number, date of birth and home club (if applicable) NEW! Music MP3 file(s) for upload including duration Coach s email Credit card information MP3 MUSIC SUBMISSION For the Skate Ontario Sectional Series Events, competitors must submit their music electronically as part of the online registration process. Music files will not be kept so skaters are required to submit their music for each individual competition. Athletes will still be required to register 2 CD copies of their music at the event as backup. CLOSING DATE: Access to online registration will cease at 12:00 pm noon on August 6, 2018. Registrations will be accepted on a first come - first serve basis with restrictions in certain categories to accommodate the scheduling of categories. Please review your entry information before submitting. CONFIRMATION EMAILS: An email copy of each registration invoice will be automatically generated and sent to the account holder at the email address on the registrant s profile. NEW - COACHES CONFIRMATION EMAILS: Coaches will receive an email confirming their athlete s registration information if the correct email is provided at registration. It is the responsibility of the registrant to ensure the accuracy of the coach(es) email. CATEGORIES: All competitive categories (Singles, and Pair) will be combined categories only except for Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile Pattern and Free which are offered as separate categories. Starting Orders shall be determined by a random draw in each category. The following categories are to be held at the 2018 Skate Ontario Sectional Series Paris Autumn Skate SENIOR Pair No age requirement. No age requirement. Rhythm & Free offered as a combined category only. Must have passed the complete Gold test. No age requirement. JUNIOR Pair Shall meet ISU Junior age criteria - max. limit only applies. No age requirement. Rhythm & Free offered as a combined category only. Must have passed the complete Gold test or higher. Shall meet ISU Junior age criteria - max. limit only applies. NOVICE Pair Shall be under the age of 17 before July 1, 2018. No age requirements. Pattern & Free offered as a combined category only. Must have passed at least 2 pattern dances from the Gold test or higher. Woman shall be under the age of 19 before July 1, 2018. Men shall be under the age of 21 before, July 1, 2018 (Starlight Waltz & Argentine Tango)

RULES AND REGULATIONS Registration is finalized only when all information and payment is complete. Your receipt of payment is your registration confirmation. Please print your receipt and retain for your records. LATE ENTRIES: Entries received after the closing date will be considered by the Technical Representative for registration. Late entries are subject to a $100.00 late fee. No late entries will be considered after start orders are posted (2 weeks before event start). REFUNDS: Full refunds will be given for any cancelled categories. MEDICAL REFUNDS: Medical refunds will be granted at 50% of registration fees until the commencement of the competition on September 28, 2018. All medical requests must be sent to Melissa Fraser mfraser@mfraser@skateontario.org. This request MUST be received before the first skate of the day on September 28, 2018 and MUST be accompanied by a signed medical physician s (MD) note. Notes from non-medical care providers such as physiotherapists, chiropractors or athletic therapists are NOT acceptable. WITHDRAWALS PRIOR TO REGISTRATION CLOSE: If an entry is withdrawn prior to August 8, 2018, a refund (less an administrative fee of $35.00 per skater) will be granted. There will be no refunds other than medical after this date. RESTRICTIONS: In the case of a very large entry in any category, the entries will be drawn into groups. Athletes cannot register in two categories of the same discipline. For example: registering both in Juvenile Free Skate and Pre-Novice Singles will not be allowed. Athletes may register for two different disciplines such as Novice Singles and Novice. AGE REQUIREMENTS: As on July 1, 2018. ON-SITE REGISTRATION: All competitors and Skate Canada registered coaches are required to register upon arrival at the arena. Registration and music registration will commence one hour prior to the first category of the day. Each competitor will receive an accreditation tag that must be retained and used as a pass for the duration of the competition. All skaters MUST have their music and planned program content sheet when registering. Coaches must provide proof that they are a registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing. COACH ACCREDITATION: To be accredited at the 2018 Skate Ontario Sectional Series Paris Autumn Skate, coaches must be Primary STARSkate trained or certified. Ontario coaches must present their Skate Ontario issued Coach s Accreditation Tag. No other form of identification will be accepted. Out of province coaches must provide proof at that they are a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing
when registering at the Coaches sign in table. Up to two certified coaches per entry will be accredited GENERAL MUSIC REQUIREMENTS - INSTRUCTIONS: ALL SKATERS with the exception of STAR 1 must submit music online as part of the registration process. The registration system will prompt the registrant to upload the music to complete registration. Music will ONLY be accepted electronically via MP3 format. Do not begin the registration process until you have your music file(s) ready to upload. Solo dance competitors who choose to use Skate Canada Contemporary music selections must also submit this music electronically Music files are NOT kept for the next competition. Skaters must submit their music for each individual competition. This will eliminate any possibility of the wrong music being played. CDs: Each entry must also provide two CDs of the correct music for the competition upon registration, one for competition - marked Master and one for back up - marked Copy. These must be registered with music registration at least one hour prior to the posted start time of the category and may not be removed for any reason until after the category is completed. CD Audio Discs are the only music format accepted. iphones, ipods or other digital sources will not be accepted as backups. Music must be picked up within 30 minutes after completion of the category. All music used must be in the public domain or covered by the performing rights societies. Competitors who have music composed specifically for their programs either wholly or in part, are responsible for obtaining a written release from the composer for the use of such music on radio and/or television or appropriate clearance from the performing rights societies Standard Specifications for Music: (1) Only one program shall be recorded on each CD (2) Competitor s name followed by home club, category, program type-short or free and music time shall be printed on front of the CD label using a black Sharpie pen (3) Each CD shall be enclosed in a plastic case in good repair marked with the skater s name, home club, category, program type short or free, and total music time Technical Guidelines for Music CDs: (1) Music on CD must be burned in CD Audio Format (NOT mp3;.acc or DVD) (2) Music should be burned on CD-R discs of good quality that provide legible space for the skater information to be printed on (3) It is recommended that CDs be burned at speeds 16Xs or less (4) The start of the music shall be recorded on the CD with < two seconds of lead in
(5) Skater or Team should keep a set of CDs for COMPETITION USE ONLY. It is recommended that this set be used for each competition unless music changed Pre-Novice and Novice competitors: The ISU pattern dance music to be used for all events is the 2001 Revised Version produced by the ISU. AWARDS: Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded for each category. Medal presentation information will be available at the competition..
