She has also won Big 12 Freshman of the Week three times in the first four weeks of the season. Through seven games, Robertson has four 20-point scoring games. The freshman finished with a career-high 27 points at Auburn on Sunday. Robertson has knocked down seven 3-pointers in back-to-back games, the first Sooner to accomplish that feat. Robertson has made at least two 3-pointers in seven straight games to start the season, the second-best streak in school history (Aaryn Ellenberg made multiple 3-pointers in nine straight games to begin the 2010-11 season). Robertson ranks second nationally in 3-pointers per game (5.14) and in 3-point field goals made (36). Robertson's eight 3-pointers against WKU in the Sooners' season opener set an OU single-game record for a freshman, besting the previous mark of seven held by Morgan Hook (Stephen F. Austin, 2010-11) and Derica Wyatt (UT-Arlington, 2013-14). Robertson's eight treys were one shy of tying the OU single-game record. The McPherson, Kan., native is just one of six players to make eight or more 3-pointers in a single game since 2000. Robertson already ranks ninth all-time on OU's freshman record list with 36 made 3-pointers. Ellenberg holds the OU freshman record with 94 treys in 2010-11. OFFENSE SHOWS PROMISE Despite having one of the youngest starting lineups in the country, the Sooners have continued to be one of the nation's top offenses. OU is averaging 79.7 points per game this year, which is third in the Big 12 and 37th nationally. The Sooners are 34th in Division I in field goal percentage (.458). Oklahoma's up-tempo offense is also third in Division I in possessions per game (83.2). THE DUAL THREAT Freshman guard/forward Madi Williams has made an immediate impact for the Sooners offensively and on the glass. She has recorded 10 rebounds in four games and is averaging a double-double so far this season with 13.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. The Fort Worth, Texas, product ranks sixth nationally among Division I freshmen in rebounds per game. Williams recorded her second double-double of the season at Auburn on Sunday, finishing with 10 points and a season-high 16 rebounds. Williams has four games with at least 10-plus rebounds this year. The freshman is tied for third in the Big 12 with 11.1 rebounds per game this season. QUICK HITS BIG 12 PRESEASON COACHES POLL (First-place votes in parentheses) Team Points 1. Baylor (8) 80 2. The Sooners are one of two Power 5 teams (Boston College) with seven freshmen on their roster. Among all Division I teams, OU (seven), Boston College (seven), FAU (eight) and Wichita State (eight) are the only four teams with more than seven freshmen on their roster to begin the 2018-19 season. In OU's season opener, Tatum Veitenheimer and Madi Williams became the first pair of OU freshmen to start the first game of the regular season in the Sherri Coale era. Veitenheimer and Williams are the 11th and 12th freshmen to start a season opener, respectively, under Coale. The average age of OU's 12-member squad is 19.1 years old, which is tied for third youngest nationally among all Division I teams with Georgia Tech. Only UMBC and SMU have a younger roster by average age than the Sooners (19.0). Oklahoma's run of 19 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances ranks as the longest active streak by a team in the Big 12 and the fifth-best active streak among Division I women's basketball teams. OU's 19 straight NCAA bids is the ninth longest streak all-time in Division I. Only Tennessee (37), Stanford (31), Connecticut (30) and Notre Dame (23) have made more consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament than the Sooners. UP NEXT The Sooners host No. 20 DePaul on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT inside Lloyd Noble Center. Oklahoma and DePaul will meet for the third time in the last two seasons. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest. @OU_WBBall 3
