By Memphis Vinny NV Lucky Kickball Bookie It s December again and December Madness is upon us, (And my enforcers don t care if the NCAA sues us for saying it.) That s right, your friendly local bookie Memphis Vinny is back with odds and reports on this year s NV Lucky Kickball Tournament! My, um associates and I have some rather large, hm opinions on this year s field so let s get down to some perfectly legal business. Lines are just the same as football lines, for the uninitiated if a team is minus an amount of runs, that means they have to win by more than that to cover, which is a fancy term for get you paid if you bet on them. On to the matchups! (1) Let s Get Weird (NO LINE) vs. (16) Ballz En Fuego I d love to put up some numbers on this one, but the big goomba in KC says no the reason being, Ballz En Fuego might not even show up. There wasn t a dark gray jersey to be found on the field last week. Come on, a little cold never hurt anyone! Prediction: You ll be hearing from Let s Get Weird some more. They re one of our top-rated teams in the odds to win it all. (8) Balls Deep (PICK) vs. (9) The Situation These are two strong teams who could very easily have been seeded much higher. Both teams have some great athletes, good strategy, and two damn good names if Vinny does say so himself. It s too tough to favor either team here, so we ll just call this a pick em no spreads, just a winner. Prediction: The Situation wins by a perfectly gelled hair. (5) Goldmemberz (-6.5) vs. (12) Kicks and Giggles A true clash of opposites here old team vs. new team, power vs. small ball, the color of money vs. the color of vomit. (That green is hideous. Sorry, K+G.) The 5-12 game is traditionally an upset in the March Madness basketball tournament.sorry guys, but this ain t basketball. Goldmemberz will prove to be too powerful for the plucky upstarts. (That is the first time anyone has been called plucky upstarts since the 1960s. You re welcome.) Prediction: The Memberz extend their season among other things. (4) Balls of Steal (-4.5) vs. (13) Misfits Now, if you re looking for a potential upset this is where it could be found. Balls of Steal is a fundamentally strong team, but the Misfits play good defense, and have proven that they can keep a game close against strong teams. Rumor has it that two members of the Misfits (not naming names, but Brecken and Jeff) have sworn to play this game completely naked. Prediction: That s not all that gets exposed about the Misfits, but they do get the cover BoS in a close one, 4-2. (3) Sin City Ballerz (-5.5) vs. (14) Ready To Score Ready To Score seemed like a solid middle of the pack team when the season started, but nothing seemed to go right for them. SCB was one of the top teams last year, and they ve picked up right where they left off. Prediction: Ballerz are too strong, 10-2 final. Betting Lines Memphis Vinny makes his tournament picks Will Kickin It Old School three-peat? (6) All Your Base Are Belong (-5.5) vs. (11) Bunting is Murder Bunting is Murder won two games? Really? This is the same core that hadn t won in two seasons. It s also a rematch from last week, which was an ugly game marred by an ejection and sloppy play. Don t believe Vinny? It s all on the game film, as All Your Base tapes all their matches. Prediction: Bunting is Murder gets murdered. (7) BBallerz Part 2 (-4) vs. (10) FlipFlipFlipadelphia BBallerz are another team that s much better than their record indicates and they re my personal darkhorse to make some noise in this tournament. FlipFlipFlipadelphia will be a sentimental favorite, however, because if you don t love It s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, you suck and I don t want to know you. (Except to pick up the money you owe me each week, that is.) Prediction: Ballerz advance, 8-2. (2) Kickin it Old School (-6) vs. (15) The Theme Team Interesting clash here again two-time defending champs Kickin it Old School vs. The Theme Team, the greatest collection of athletic underachievers since the 2010-11 Miami Heat. (See what I did there? LeBron LeBlows.) The Theme Team has been one of the most fun additions to the league, and I can t quite figure out why they haven t had more success. They ll just be a speed bump for the defending champs, though. Prediction: Theme Team gets kicked. Old- School. And now, what you ve all been waiting for, official odds to hoist the hardware on Dec. 15 (weather permitting) Kickin it Old School: 2-1. They ve been there before, and have all the tools to make it a three-peat. Sin City Ballerz: 5-2. A perennial contender. Is this the year they break through? Let s Get Weird: 3-1. No respect for the top seed! Let s see what they do come playoff time. Balls of Steal: 7-2. This team is capable of beating anyone on any day. Can they win four straight? Goldmemberz: 6-1. Strong all-around team, but the story of the year has been Kellie and Tyler s engagement, and any good bookie knows women weaken legs. All Your Base.: 8-1. Game taping! Plus, I m tired of typing out their whole name. B-Ballerz Part 2: 8-1. If they can get by the defending champs, this team could definitely make the finals. And I m not just saying that because I play for them. (Or do I?) The Situation: 12-1. Could it be Fall 2010 Championship T-Shirt Time? Balls Deep: 15-1. Hey, another Balls joke name! Awesome! FlipFlipFlipadelphia: 25-1. Likely to achieve victory on the flip cup tables, however. Misfits: 50-1. They made a good run into the semis last year. Could it happen again? Bunting is Murder: 100-1. Ready to Score: 150-1 Kicks and Giggles: 200-1 The Theme Team: 300-1. Ballz en Fuego: If they show up, we ll talk.

Recaps Let s Get Weird defeats Balls Deep in one cold game Let s Get Weird came out of the gate hot, scoring five of their seven runs in the first inning off some timely kicks and great base running from a variety of players. Behind the great pitching of Chris P, LGW held the undermanned Balls Deep to 0 runs through the third inning, until they scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth on some aggressive base running by some of their key players. Let s be honest, it was too cold to count or care at that point, so it both teams were LGW s John B. getting iced. glad it was over. It was a good game, and Field No. 2 thanked the teams for playing on it. Danika B. and Mike J. freezing during the game. Let s Get Weird trying to stay warm before the game The art of a fourth foul strike out during LGW and BD s game. The Situation takes control of FFF FlipFlipFlipadelphia was a skinny squad this week, as their last woman barely made the start time. As a result, FFF was in somewhat disarray and The Situation took advantage, grabbing a commanding lead in the first inning by scoring four runs on some errant overthrows and balls out base running. The next two innings were pretty uneventful, with three-up, threedowns across the board. FFF had the bases loaded in the fourth, but couldn t get a run in, as that damn red ball just wasn t rolling their way. The Situation fist pumped one more run in, but not before some crazy run downs in the base paths happened. Balls were flying everywhere, people were sliding, it was pure pandemonium on the sidelines. FFF avoided a goose egg on the score board by getting 1 run across, thus demoralizing the valiant shut out efforts by The Situations pitcher. It seems they all had a good time, and most importantly, plenty of beers were slayed in the battle! Want to recogniize your team member s awesome plays? Want the full report of your team s game listed? Did you take a great picture or two showing what NV Lucky Send us your stuff does best? (That would be having fun, though consuming beer also counts.)
