Welcome! On behalf of the St. John s Rod and gun Club, I would like to welcome all shooters and their guests to the 2018 Newfoundland & Labrador Trapshooting Championships. We hope that you ll enjoy the shoot and visit to our club. Good luck and good shooting from the Shoot Committee. Andrea Bassan - Shoot Chairman Shoot Committee Andrea Bassan - Troy Coldwell - John Tucker - Roger Butler Shoot Rules and Regulations This shoot is registered with the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and Atlantic Provinces Trapshooting Association (APTA). Official ATA rules will govern shooting in all events and all shooters must be members of the ATA and APTA (AP residents only). Memberships may be purchased at the registration desk. The Shoot Committee reserves the right to reject any entry and make changes to the program if conditions warrant. Errors in scores must be corrected on the score sheets before leaving the shooting post. Each shooter is responsible for checking their score on the bulletin board. No score will be changed once the awards and purses have been figured. All ties for titles and championships will be shot off in 25 target events for singles and handicap and 10 pairs for doubles. All shoot-offs will be scheduled at the discretion of the Shoot Committee. If involved in a tie, shooters must be on the grounds when their shoot-off is called or else forefeit all rights. All shooters are responsible for providing their own ammo for spares and shoot-offs. Due to the number of shooters expected, shooters are requested to be at the shooting line and prepared to move to the Trap immediately after the previous squad finishes shooting. Any shooter missing their squad will be re-squadded at the end of the event. Etiquette Please show courtesy to other shooters by refraining from loud or boisterous conduct while behind shooters still competing on the firing line, especially during the handicap events. Your cooperation is appreciated. Shoot management also reserves the right to disqualify, or refuse
entry to any person(s) or shooter(s) who interfere with or disturb the harmony of the shoot in any manner. Shoot management also reserves the right to modify/cancel/revise any aspect of the event if necessary. Target Setting The Target Setting Committee will set targets each morning or upon event changes. Targets will be set in accordance with ATA rules. Targets shall be reset only if they become illegal or appreciably vary from legal targets. The final decision as to whether or not a trap is to be reset shall be made only by a member of the Target Setting Committee. Classification will be determined by average and known ability. ATA Memberships Shooters must be current members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). Memberships can be purchased for $27.50. CLASS AVERAGE AA 96.0% & over A 92.0% - 95.9% B 88.0% - 91.9% C 82.0% - 87.9% D 81.9% & under Targets... $60.00 ATA/APTA fees. $7.50 5 Man Team.. $5.00 2 Man Team.. $5.00 Lewis Option (3 Classes, divided 60/40% each class)... $10.00 Awards: Singles Champion and Class Winners. Special Categories: Senior, Ladies and Junior Champions. Special Category designation must be declared at entry time. Singles and Category Champions do not take Class award. Event # 2: NL Champion of Champions The Dave Anstey Memorial Award 50-16 Yard Singles Open to all previous NL Singles Champions. Registration will be open from 8:30 AM 9:30 AM. Doubles Champion does not take Class award. Event # 4: NL Handicap Championship The Pat Wall Handicap Trophy 100 Handicap Registration will be open until 12 PM. Event # 4 will start after the completion of Event # 3. Cash award to top team. $10 per team. EVENT # 10 NL 2 MAN TEAM DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP Concurrent with EVENT # 3. Cash award to top team. $10 per team. EVENT # 11 WINCHESTER AWARD - HIGH GUN SINGLES AND HANDICAP Concurrent with EVENTS # 1 and 4. Award to the Champion. EVENT # 12 NL HIGH GUN OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP THE MICK FIELD AWARD Concurrent with EVENTS # 1, 3, & 4. Award to the Champion. NOTES: TEAM EVENTS i.) All teams must be announced before any member of the team shoots. ii) 80% of collected team fees will be returned to winning teams and the remaining 20% being retained by the club for applicable prizes. The St. John s Rod and Gun Club is located near Holyrood (approx. 45 km west of St. John s.) and is accessed from the eastbound lane of the TCH (Route 1.) Travelling east - The club s access road is 4 km east of the Salmonier Line overpass (Route 90.) Travelling west - Take the TCH to the Salmonier Line overpass (Route 90) and head back east 4 km.
