Page 2 July-August 2013 The Governor s Gavel H ello Brothers and Co-Workers, Thank you everyone for showing up for the Multiple Sclerosis walk. It was a great day. Also thank you to all that helped make the event a great success. The Mother s Day and Father s Day breakfasts both had great turnouts. Our Memorial Weekend Barbecue was awesome. We did over 80 dinners. A big Thanks goes out to Craig Robnett and Jerry Freeman for the help at the steam table and Joe Ingalls for taking the money. We had a good turnout for the Green Valley Poker Run. It is always a fun time. We have many things going on in July and August starting off with the 4 th of July Barbecue on July 6. The Sedillo brothers will be providing the music. So come and enjoy. Our annual yard sale will be on July 4, 5 and 6 starting at 8 a.m. in the morning. We also have a life membership drawing going on for both LOOM and WOTM members. The men are $20 for a $1,000 life membership and the women is $10 for $400 for their life membership. The lodge makes good money on both of these, so ask the bartender for the signup sheet. Finally, I would like to thank all of the many members who volunteered for the Friday Steak Nights and Saturday night meals. What an awesome job by all of you plus super good meals. I am still sending out fliers weekly reminding you of coming events if I have your e-mail. Newsletters in Color on the Net Starting in January we began emailing the newsletter in color if I have your e-mail. Only members without an e-mail address will be getting a paper newsletter. This will save the lodge a lot of money. If you are not getting the fliers, please send me your e-mail and I will put you on the list. My e-mail address is ponderosawayne@yahoo.com. Once again, if you have any ideas for events or parties or anything else, please let me know. And don t forget our meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Thanks again for supporting our/your Moose Lodge. While I am thanking people, I would like to thank our bartenders for the great job they do serving our members, and also Sharen and Kevin for keeping our social quarters so clean. If I forgot anyone or anything, please let me know. You are all important to the lodge. If you would like me to make up a flier for a special event that you want to hold at the Moose Lodge, birthday, anniversary, etc., please let me know and I will create one for you and send it out. I hope you are enjoying the fliers. Thanks! Your Brother and Friend Governor, Wayne Parker ponderosawayne@yahoo.com
