Medienstadt Babelsberg Welcome to the media city Babelsberg! Since more than a century dreams play the most important role in the Filmpark Babelsberg. More than 3000 cinema and TV films were produced at Europe s biggest and oldest media centre, located between the Berlin lake Wannsee and the Sanssouci castle. Fritz Lang made cinematic history with Metropolis, Marlene Dietrich gained worldwide reputation with The Blue Angel, stars like Greta Garbo, Heinz Rühmann and Hans Albers stood in front of the camera in Babelsberg all of them loved the atmosphere, the charm and flair of Babelsberg. During DEFAtimes films like the Oscar nominated film Jacob The Liar (1974) as well as numerous fairy tales such as Heart of Stone (1950) and The Story of Little Muck (1953) were produced. Especially during the last years, numerous international great productions such as Roman Polanski s The Pianist (2002), Stephen Daldry`s The Reader (2008), Bryan Singer`s Valkyrie (2008), Quentin Tarantino s Inglorious Basterds (2008), Roland Emmerich s Anonymous, Paul W. S. Anderson s The Three Musketeers 3D (both 2010), Tom Tykwer s Cloud Atlas (2011) as well as The Monuments Men (2013) produced by and starring George Clooney were filmed in Babelsberg. Stuntworkshop Experience a cinematic interaction of teamwork and security! Just once everybody would love to be the hero of an action film, to shoot dangerous scenes without getting any dents or injuries. Have a glimpse behind the scenes and discover the thrilling world of stunts and special effects. These exciting scenes, which look so easy, are the tough job of the stuntmen. Whether as a burning torch, fencing master, risky jumper from different heights, accident victims and in the end nothing happens to them the stuntman masters these and many more. The teambuilding workshops do not require high sportive skills. The participants will learn how important clear communication and trust in the actions of colleagues are. Various stations will be planned by taking age and physical condition of the participants into account. Experts will support the teams as backup. All team members have years of experience and know exactly what is important: Your safety is top priority. You will be guided through the stunt workshop in Filmpark Babelsberg, which will allow you to get a profound insight in the world of a stuntman. You will train with the stunt crew just before or right after the volcano show. The training content will be discussed before and also depends on the weather conditions. A bad-weather-alternative can be offered, but is subject to availability. Services Support via experienced stuntmen, use of scenes and equipment of the volcano arena, material, insurance. Workshop times during regular opening-hours of Filmpark Babelsberg: in the morning until 1:00 p.m., in the afternoon from 3:30 p.m., outside business hours: subject to availability. Stuntworkshop Ablauf Stunt workshop programme Welcome and safety briefing Following sports medical guidelines, Optimal preparation of various stations Supporting concentration and coordination skills Duration: 60 minutes at each station Hit and fall exercise: learning basic technics of martial arts and study of choreographies to stage thrilling fights for the camera. Breaking test: with a high level of concentration, body tension and overcoming fears allow you to destroy gas concrete without hurting yourself. Fencing: Experience how it feels like to gain power over an opponent or if you fall into the hands of someone else. How strong are your nerves? How do you trick an opponent in the right moment? Knowledge of your own behaviour in stressful situations. Stick fight: Find inner peace and calmness and an equal connection with body control, speed, concentration, confrontation and games. Car course: drive a car across an obstacle course blindfolded only possible with instructions of a partner. Nunchakku (Japanese weapon of two equal pieces of woods which are connected with a chain or string): improving your self control and the precise control of yourself. Abseil: you will be instructed in the basics of stunt rigging, you will have to overcome the height secured with only a rope. Fire stunt: 1000 C on your back means to overcome primal fears. The special trained coach will explain and show everything regarding a fire stunt. Whoever dares can wear the special suit. Backstage tour: Discover the technology of the volcano arena, in the sow area, the production area as well as requisites, equipment and scenery construction. The stunt crew shows their job in real film productions via video games. During breaks and at the station the stunt men and women will tell you anecdotes of their job in films. Teambuilding s can be combined with a VIP tour through the Filmpark Babelsberg and the media city. We suggest lunch in our themed restaurant Prinz Eisenherz (Prince Valiant). page 4 of 5
