Ruby Anderson Trophy (Pandas Basketball MVP) Ruby Anderson was a University of Alberta Pandas Basketball student-athlete 1948-50 and won the 1949-50 Bakewell Trophy. Anderson went on to teach at Victoria Composite HS after graduating before returning to the Faculty of Physical Education in 1956. She was named Director of Women s Athletics in 1963 and became Undergraduate Chairman of the Faculty in 1970. Anderson was promoted to Associate Dean of Athletics in 1981 before retiring, and was inducted to the U of A Wall of Fame on Nov. 1, 1988. She has since passed away.
