CSU ADDS 29 TO 2016 ROSTER Following the most successful track & fi eld campaign in recent history, complete with 10 school records, two Mountain West team championships and a program-record 26 NCAA qualifi ers sent to the postseason, the Colorado State track & fi eld program hopes to prolong its run with a highly-touted recruiting class entering prior to the upcoming school year. Head coach Brian Bedard noted that this class, may be the best I ve seen, when discussing the 29 athletes hailing from all over the globe. Fifteen incoming athletes are Colorado natives, making their journey to Ram Country from up and down the Front Range. Other future Rams come from as far west as Idaho, and as far east as overseas in Egypt and Sweden. I believe, if our staff graded this 2015 recruiting class, we would give our efforts an A. We have lots of talent in all event areas, with depth too. On paper, this may be the best I ve seen in my 27 years. Why? We have a talented staff that know how to recruit and work hard at it. Our current team should get much of the credit because they are vital to the recruiting process. They help out when the recruits are on campus. Our staff believes our family atmosphere and team spirit are keys to signing quality recruits. I do keep in mind we won t really know how good this Fall 2015 class is until a year or two goes by, but the staff is still excited about our body of work. July 1 we start all over again, recruiting our next class. For the second consecutive year the distance crew (10) makes up the largest number of incoming athletes, followed by a solid contingent of seven jumpers and hurdlers. A strong number of four pole vaulters will be making their way to Fort Collins in the fall, while Bedard will bolster his already strong throws group by adding three athletes in 2016. The distance runners joining head coach Art Siemers cross country team will start things off this fall at the Rams annual CSU Invite, set for Sept. 4 at Hughes Stadium. CSU RECRUITING GROUND The Rams signing class hails from three different countries and three different states. RAMS BY LOCATION: Colorado (15)...
