Skyline Crew completed Senior Day at the Huron River Sprints, the team's second home invitational of the season. Strong performances across the board saw the women's team capture the points trophy ahead of crosstown rival Pioneer. The men were up against it in the form of perennial state powerhouse Orchard Lake St. Mary's and fought well to maintain very competitive performances. In the combined points trophy, Skyline took second behind Pioneer by the narrowest of margins. The team's final race before the midwest regional qualifiers for nationals will be at Orchard Lake St. Mary's. On Senior Day, the team honors its departing seniors by walking them through the procession of oars onto the dock, where they receive a rose (photo at right). Looking for an Easy Fundraising Option? The Ann Arbor PTSO Thrift Shop has several fundraising opportunities for teams. Check out their website for program descriptions and instructions. Looking to get involved with the SABC this year? Kaitlin Keahl led the way offensively in Game 1, going 2 for 3 with a double, while Grace Yeung was solid at pitcher, throwing a complete game, striking out two and walking none. In Game 2, the Eagles took a 4-0 lead after two innings, but could not hold on for the win. Keahl scored two runs, and Emily Tyner drove in two runs with a double. Tyner was also outstanding in the circle, pitching a complete game and allowing only 3 earned runs while walking none. This is the first time all year that Eagles pitchers each pitched complete games in a doubleheader. Amelia Greco had two great plays in right field, making a diving catch in the first game and gunning down a Dexter runner at second base in Game 2.
