WELCOME Welcome to the Final Event of PROSPECT, InDeV and XCYCLE projects, on 12 th of October at IDIADA, close to Barcelona, Spain InDeV, XCYCLE and PROSPECT are three RDI projects funded by the European Commission under the framework programme HORIZON2020. All three projects focus on the traffic safety of vulnerable road users (VRU) and aim at significantly improving their safety. They strive to improve VRU safety by - providing methodologies and technologies for understanding risk factors of VRU accidents and assessing the costs of their accidents, - developing user-friendly, technology-based systems to equalize the treatment of cyclists in traffic and - improving the effectiveness of active VRU safety systems. The projects have now united for a joint final event to give an insight into the work done and the results from the projects. Practitioners, researchers, political decision makers and all other stakeholders are welcome to this one-day event, where results will be presented and new and enhanced technologies, tools and a handbook for practitioners will be exhibited and demonstrated. For more information on projects, please check: www.indev-project.eu www.prospect-project.eu www.xcycle-h2020.eu Final Event Venue The conference will take place at Applus+ IDIADA. IDIADA is about 70km in the South of Barcelona. IDIADA is not connected to public transport. Guests need to come by car or use one of the transfer buses that will be organized for the meeting. Transfer will be available from Sitges (Hotel Melia) and Barcelona (Placa Catalunya and Placa España). Transfer from Barcelona takes longer (>1 hour) than from Sitges. Enough parking spaces will be available at IDIADA. 3
WELCOME Registration The registration is open. For registration please go to the web page http://www.vrusafetyevent.com/ Cost The event is totally free of charge: the participation fee, catering and shuttle bus. IDIADA commitment to secrecy Participants by signing up for the event confirm that they agreed with IDIADA commitment to secrecy. We hope to see you in Barcelona and at IDIADA! 4

DETAILED AGENDA MORNING SESSION 10:30-12:30 DEMONSTRATIONS Vehicle-based functions developed in PROSPECT project will be presented in 2 different locations: - Proving Ground (PG) Dynamic Platform A (transfer only with shuttle bus that is leaving from the Headquarter parking): - Reproduction of selected PROSPECT use cases on test track with a crashable bicycle dummy (Autonomous Emergency Braking and Autonomous Emergency Steering tests) - Headquarter (HQ) surroundings (the demo-cars have three seats for each single ride, the registration needed): - On-site presentation of developed perception systems (static demonstration of the demo-cars), - Real cyclist detection tests including stationary and dynamic tracking, - Door Opener Warning function in a demo-car when a cyclist approaches from behind Test instrumentation will be used to guarantee a suitable synchronization with the dummy electronic platform control during tests on the PG. One of the vehicles will be equipped with a driving robot to accurately perform the intended turning manoeuvers. The main purpose of the demonstration in all use cases is: - Detection and Tracking of vulnerable road users, - Intention-related feature extraction, - Using intention-related features for understanding and improved prediction of VRU behaviours, - Extended warning concepts. 8
