Youth News Roundup Hello JNPtHA! I hope you are all getting excited for the upcoming show season. We had a great youth meeting on January 19 th, 2017 in Fremont. We had 11 youth attend the meeting including a new member, Jenna Glidden. We covered a lot of information, and I am also including the minutes from the meeting for anyone who could not attend. Here is a list of high-lights but I do encourage the youth and parents to read the minutes of the youth meeting and look through all the forms. Don t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Jamie Yeager backroomdesigns01@gmail.com or 402-719-8923 Logo Contest The Logo contest is going to be ending soon so a winner can be chosen and the new logo can be shown at the Spring meeting March 12. All NPtHA members are encouraged to send in at least 1 drawing for the logo, including youth. In the new service project the youth committee has approved participating in the logo contest will earn points towards each youth s year end achievements. JNPtHA Taking the Lead Service Project Program This new program was set up to help youth not only get involved with their youth club and their parent association but to also look outward into their community to see where they can be of service. There are many different things the youth members can do no matter their age, their time schedule, or their geographic location. Included is the information for this new program as well as the sheet you can print out to keep track of your successes. This is a great way for our youth to do good not only for their organization but also for their home community. LETS GET SPOTTED YOUTH SPONSORED SHOW There is much going on during the first weekend show being held May 20-21, 2017 in Fremont, NE. We will be doing horseless fun games that the older youth will be helping the younger youth participate in. This will be going on while the Pot Luck dinner is started and the meats are being cooked. We will also be having a few contest that the kids can participate in. 1. Stall Decoration Contest 2. Herdsmanship Contest 3. Poster Contest. Youth can participate in 1 or all 3 and these will be broken down into age groups. Lastly, we are bringing back the 10 for $10 Sponsorship program for the youth show. This has been a great money earner for the group in previous years so we decided to bring it back. Each youth is asked to find at least 10 people willing to donate $10 for help with you show/club. There are options for those who would be able to donate more and of course if youth want to seek out more than 10 sponsorships that is wonderful too. The more we can get donated better it is for our club and our horse show. Forms are also included for that and we will have a special prize for the top earner in each age group. That is the majority of it. There were a few other things we talked about and those are listed in the minutes. I can t wait for our show season to get kicked off so please be out there enjoying those horses during these wonderful days and I look forward to seeing you at the Spring Meeting March 12 in Fremont at the Lily Pad 412 E 1 st St, Fremont, NE. Contact Jamie Yeager with questions. 402-719-8923. 7

Youth are encouraged to decorate their stalls and have their posters up at all shows but they will only be judged at the youth show. Lastly, Youth will be laminating show numbers for $5 a set at the Spring Meeting and the first weekend show. Other events to help spread the word of Nebraska Youth were also discussed such as the possibility of Royalty handing out ribbons at the Columbus Horse Races at one of their races, or all youth who wish to participate handing out information concerning Nebraska Pinto at Bomgaars or TSC when they are having one of their big sales. We also are looking into having Nebraska Pinto represented at the Seward Parade this summer, Jaci Behlen is getting the information on this. Meeting adjourned at 2:45pm DRAFT ONLY MINUTES HAVE NOT BEEN APPROVED Any questions on Youth News please contact Jamie Yeager backroomdesigns01@gmail.com or 402-719-8923 8

Junior Nebraska Pinto Horse Association LET S GET SPOTTED! Youth Horse Show Sponsorship Form Hello! My name is and I am a member of the JNPtHA Youth Club. I am looking for sponsors to help my group put on our annual Nebraska Pinto Youth Horse Show that is being held May 21, 2017 this year at Christensen Field in Fremont. This show is called LET S GET SPOTTED! A little about JNPtHA The Nebraska Pinto Youth Program is a wonderful non-profit association that along with showing horses throughout the summer offers much more for our youth, our club, and our community. Currently this year we have many activities planned as a youth club. They range from fundraisers, community service projects including visiting the Children s Hospital as well as Senior Centers, hosting a Logo Contest for the NPtHA Club, Stall Decorating and Special Class Contests, and Charity work to help places like the Low Income Ministry in Fremont or the Dodge County Humane Society. We also are promoting youth to do some community service or charity work on their own outside of the JNPtHA in which they can earn points towards special awards at the end of the year. Lastly, we offer a Royalty program for 3 different age levels of girls in the association. These 3 categories are NPtHA Sweetheart, NPtHA Princess, and Miss Nebraska Pinto and to earn these titles our participants have to show knowledge, responsibility, kindness, and generosity. What I, as a JNPtHA Youth would like to ask of you With all we are working to achieve this year, we are bringing back our 10 for $10 Sponsorship Fundraiser that we had several years ago. Each youth is working towards meeting a goal of a minimum of 10 sponsorships of $10 each to help us with our show and meeting our goals with all we would like to achieve this year both in and out of the arena. There are also other levels of sponsorship if you would like to donate more than the $10. All youth who participate will be up for prizes at the NPtHA Fall Awards Banquet in November for achieving different levels of sponsorship. I thank you for helping the Junior Nebraska Pinto Horse Association as well as helping me in my personal goal of achieving in total sponsorships. Sponsorship Levels: $100 Sponsorship Announced throughout day of LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show, listing in the LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show Pattern Booklet for all exhibitors, listed on the NPtHA Website with link to email or website, listed in the 2018 Nebraska Pinto Horse Association / Nebraska Paint Horse Club Directory on the JNPtHA Sponsored Page. $50 Sponsorship - Announced throughout day of LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show, listing in the LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show Pattern Booklet for all exhibitors, and listed on the NPtHA Website with link to email or website. $25 Sponsorship Announced throughout day of LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show and listing in the LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show Pattern Booklet for all exhibitors. $10 Sponsorship** Announced throughout day of LET S GET SPOTTED Youth Sponsored Show.
