Last year, more than ten thousand people attended LOROS events; from jumping out of planes to dressing as clowns at our Twilight Walk or attending the Hospice to light up our Christmas tree at the annual Light Up a Life service. LOROS events have something to offer everyone and the fantastic thing about getting involved is that you are playing a vital part in helping us to care for terminally ill people living in our community. Each year, LOROS needs your help to raise in excess of 6 million pounds so that we can continue to care and support more than 2,500 terminally ill patients, their families and carers living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. By taking part in a LOROS event and raising sponsorship, you are making a vital difference. At LOROS we are proud to say that 90p from every pound raised goes towards patient care. Highlights this year include the return of the much anticipated LOROS Ball in November, and our Twilight Walk is set to be THE BIGGEST girls night out in Leicester returning with an all new Under the Sea theme. This fun-filled 10km walk through Leicester takes on an Under the Sea theme for 2019. Grab your gull-friends and sign up to take part in this fin-tastic event and help to raise money for your local Hospice! Last year a record number of ladies walked and raised over 150,000 for LOROS. The campaign will be running throughout the month of May 2019. Suggested donation - 80 for a single Will or 150 for a joint Will LOROS.CO.UK/WILLS The 101-mile Cotswold Way is a new walk for LOROS and as with all our previous walks we will have a guide and a minibus to transport your main luggage and provide support. Starting from Chipping Camden the walk finishes in the ancient city of Bath. Accommodation will be in Youth Hostels and B&Bs. We organise regular training walks for everyone taking part to help you meet and get to know the other walkers, as well as build up your own fitness and test out your walking gear before the trip itself. Friday 27th December HOUGHTON ON THE HILL All-year round YOUR WORKPLACE! WINTER WALK STATIC TRIATHLON 18 For the 40th year, the villagers of Houghton on the Hill and the surrounding villages will set out the day after Boxing Day to walk off all that Christmas fare. How to Volunteer Our events would not happen without the help and support of our amazing volunteers. We are always on the lookout for supporters who are able to donate between three and eight hours of their time to help out at our events.
