Key Facts: - Victoria has the lowest drowning rate per 100,000 - The drowning toll is up slightly on the 2011/12 season - The drowning toll is down slightly on the 10 year average - Men make up 82% of all drowning victims - Adults 55+ years make up 39% of the drowning toll - Children aged 0-4 years make up 31% of the drowning toll - Drowning are evenly spread out across the four seasons

LSV State of Industry Report Report Purpose: A summary of the AFSA s completed across 2012/13 Key Findings: Overall safety and complaince scores are generally consistent Scores in Key Sections are down slightly 11/12 - Platinum Pools achieved safety scores 10% above the mean 12/13 Platinum pools achieved safety scores 15% above the mean All year round facilities outperformed seasonal facilities Metro pools outperformed non-metro facilities
Main changes in 2014 1) WHS Audit gets the chop 2) The WHS audit has fulfilled its purpose. It has now been incorporated into the new Pool Safety Assessment (PSA). 2) The MGV visits are doubled Each facility will undergo two mystery guest visits in the six months leading up to their PSA. 3) The PSA is completed The full PSA assessment is delivered at the facility. 4) The Treatment Table is completed The risk treatment table is completed and passed to LSV to finalise the program.

Steering Committee and the Future 1) The Steering Committee Meets twice a year at the LSV State Office Makes decisions regarding the program direction Each facility is encouraged to have a representative 2) The 2014 Platinum Program The program is at capacity and there is a waiting list The program will be delivered as per the previous slide MGV x2, PSA x1 Feedback is always welcome and will be considered for the future decisions 3) Platinum Program Post 2014 These decisions will be made by way of a vote by the committee The options will be discussed at length during meeting one The decisions will be made during meeting two If you re not represented on the Committee, you don t have a say!!
