Riding Changes: Nil Race 1: Maiden Handicap 1280m Trainer Mr. B Baker was fined $200 (LR36A) for failing to withdraw Fast Dealer and Kiss The Bride, by the prescribed time. Oakfield Jet over raced during the early stages. Little Geoffrey slow to begin. Precognition slow to begin, then over raced during the early stages. Kalahari slow to begin. B El-lssa, the rider of Light Charge, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137a), in that he allowed his mount to shift in passing the 1000m, when insufficiently clear of Kalahari, which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. B El-lssa s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 13/10/18, at the expiration of a suspension incurred at Hawkesbury 27/9/18 and expire 23/10/18, on which day he may resume. Airlie Avenue raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. The rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m. Phlip Out slow to begin. Artistic Queen a post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was 3/5 lame in the near fore leg. Trainer Mr. L Thomas was advised that prior to racing again, Artistic Queen must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness.
Race 2: 3YO + Maiden Plate 1000m Chrissy Be was bumped heavily passing the 700m. Gladiator s Girl slow to begin, then raced greenly during the middle stages. Euroaire raced ungenerously passing the 600m. Our Fantasy trainer Mr. B Hill said that the filly would be spelled. Regardless, Mr. Hill was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on Our Fantasy s racing record. Slimline raced ungenerously passing the 600m. Race 3: Class 1 Handicap 1000m Humboldt slow to begin. Mr Casson had to be steadied when crowded slightly passing the 800m, then raced ungenerously and hung out passing the 600m. World Force slow to begin. Asudem was momentarily crowded between runners and had to be steadied passing the 600m, then hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1000m Grammar School suffered a bleeding attack during the race. Stable representative Mr. N Perry was advised of the provisions of AR53A, relative to first event bleeders. Buddy Honest became fractious in the barrier, struck its head and when inspected by the club s veterinary officer, had blood apparent in one nostril. As this occurrence was deemed to be the result of external trauma, trainer Ms. A Bennett was advised that prior to racing again Buddy Honest must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness. Buddy Honest was withdrawn at 3.28pm. Billabong Cindy became very fractious in the barrier lashed out behind and cast a hind plate. Was subsequently declared unsuitable to race by the clubs veterinary officer and withdrawn at 3.28pm. when correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets made on Billabong Cindy and

Race 5: Benchmark 58 Handicap 1450m Trainer Mr. S Osland was fined $100 (LR35) for failing to declare B Looker as the rider of New Endeavour by the prescribed time. New Endeavour when questioned relative to the tactics adopted in the early stages, B Looker explained that he had intended to obtain a forward position after the start as usual, however the gelding which has a tendency to race fiercely early in its races, was more relaxed today and for this reason he allowed it to settle where it was comfortable to avoid it over racing. Trainer Mr. S Osland said that New Endeavour would be spelled. Diamond Deluxe slow to begin. When questioned C Lever said that he had intended race near the lead in the early stages, however after being tardy at the start, his mount failed to muster any speed and was trapped wide for some distance and did not travel well. He said that he pressured Diamond Deluxe, including using the whip approaching the 700m, but the mare did not respond and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer Mr. J Deamer said that if the mare recovered well its preparation would continue and undertook to notify any condition in the ensuing days that could have led to the disappointing performance. Matakauri hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight and disadvantaged its rider. Keeva the rider B El-lssa was fined $300 (AR137b) for failing to ride the mare with any vigour during the concluding stages, which prejudiced its chances of finishing in fourth position. Something Shocking over raced during the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare displayed a slow recovery. Race 6: Open Handicap 1280m Exilia Miss slow to begin.
Love None began awkwardly and was slow away. Pippi s Pride hung out rounding the home turn and then when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 7: Class 2 Handicap 1280m Roy s Command slow to begin, then was crowded and had to be shifted in passing the 900m. Boca Grande slow to begin. Cloud Cover was and had to be shifted in passing the 900m. Leica Kite had to be steadied and shifted out passing the 900m when crowded by Boca Grande (A. Gibbons), which shifted in when not quite clear when obtaining cover. A Gibbons was reprimanded (AR137a). Eyota hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stanza had to be steadied when crowded passing the 900m.
