Matches will be played best 2 out of 3 to 25 no cap with the 3 rd set to 15 no cap. All seven teams will play each other in pool play format for a total of 6 matches in the tournament. The champion of the tournament will be based on the best record in pool play. In the event of a tie, tiebreakers will be as follows: head to head, pool point differential (total points scored/total points scored against.) OFFICIALS/SCOREKEEPERS/LINESMEN Baldwin County will supply R1 and R2 officials for the tournament. The team listed first will be the home team and will supply the score keeper, libero tracker, and one linesman. The team listed second will provide a clock worker and one linesman. TEAM BENCHES/BALLS For the tournament, the team listed first will be the home team. The home bench will be to the right of the scorers table as you stand at center court. Per AHSAA rules, teams do not switch benches between sets. Balls/Ball carts will be provided for all teams to use during warmups. 3

TICKET INFORMATION Tournament tickets are available at each gym. $10 for a daily pass, and tournament passes for both Friday and Saturday matches will be $15. FILMING Each team is permitted to film the game in which they are participating. Filming games in which a team is not participating is expressly prohibited per Alabama High School Athletic Association by-laws. PARKING Friday 9/15, no spectators/buses may arrive before 1:30pm. School will be dismissed at 1:00pm on Friday to allow for buses and fans access to the lots, but please do not come any earlier than 1:30pm. There will be nowhere to park. Bus parking will be located in the east part of campus across from the CYO. You can access the lot on Lafayette street. The lot sits on the corner of Lafayette and Dauphin. (map link) Fans may park in this lot as well, or they may park in the lots on Old Shell that face the front of the school. They can be found on the corner of Old Shell and Catherine. (map link) We will have greeters out front as buses arrive to help with parking. FRIDAY DINNER Friday, September 15, the tournament will host a come and go dinner in the McGill-Toolen courtyard. Teams and families are invited to join together from the hours of 5:00pm-7:30pm when their teams are not playing. All teams and families of teams are invited to attend. The dinner is free for all, but please email Sue Eways seways@bellsouth.net by September 8 with a head count of how many will attend from your school. Please include all players, coaches, and families. SATURDAY MASS & BREAKFAST Mass will be celebrated at 8:00am at St. Mary Church (adjacent to McGill-Toolen) on Saturday September 16. Archbishop Rodi will be the celebrant. Each team and families of teams are invited to attend, and we will ask each team to have one volunteer to help with the mass. The tournament breakfast will be served immediately following Mass in the McGill-Toolen cafeteria. All teams and families of teams are invited to attend. PHOTOGRAPHY The official photographer for the 2017 Catholic Cup Tournament is Photography by Mal. Photos will be available for purchase online. And information will be found at the ticket desks. He will be shooting tournament play on Friday only. The champion s name will be engraved into the Official Catholic Cup. The first annual Catholic Cup was won by St. Thomas More. The All-Tournament team awards will be presented at the conclusion of the final matches followed by the championship cup trophy presentation. We will do our best to get each representative of the All Tournament team her award before the teams depart, but any athlete selected to the All-Tournament team that is not present for the awards ceremony will have her award shipped. HOSPITALITY/TEAM TABLES The coaches, administrators, and workers hospitality room will be located in the Dining Hall in the west portion of the room. Complimentary food and drink will be provided throughout the tournament. Each team will have a table provided for them in the Dining Hall to use as their food table. Please help us keep the area clean by having your teams clean up their own trash. TOURNAMENT T-SHIRTS Tournament T-shirts will be complementary this year for players and coaches. Please send an email to Sue Eways seways@bellsouth.net with your roster and a t-shirt size next to each name. Sizes are due by September 1.
