BILL NO. 2012.80 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA BYLAW NUMBER 2012.99 A BYLAW TO DECREASE THE RATE OF SPEED OF MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN THE STATUTORY SPEED LIMITS WHEREAS the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8, Section 128 permits the council of a municipality, by bylaw, to prescribe the rate of speed for motor vehicles driven on a highway under its jurisdiction. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Ramara desires to prescribe appropriate speed limits on various Township roads; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara enacts as follows: 1. THAT all highways within the Township of Ramara under the Township s jurisdiction, have a maximum speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. 2. THAT not withstanding Section 1 of this bylaw, the prescribed speed limits on any highway, or portion of a highway, shall be varied and described in Schedule A, attached to this bylaw. 3. Any highway or portion of highway set out in Schedule A shall be marked in compliance with the regulations under the Highway Traffic Act and the maximum rate of speed thereon shall be in kilometers per hour. 4. THAT Bylaws 99.89, 2004.58, 2005.52, 2005.87, 2006.23, 2007.11, 2007.65, 2009.56, 2010.72, 2011.56, 2012.06, 2012.74 are hereby repealed 5. Schedule A attached, shall list speed limits and the corresponding highway locations shall form part of this bylaw 6. The penalties provided in Section 128, Subsection 14 of the Highway Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter H.8 shall apply to offences against this bylaw.
