Welcome 2015 Nebraska State Fair Draft Horse Exhibitors Thank you for considering The Nebraska State Fair as a place to exhibit your draft horses. It is because of exhibitors like you that we have continued to improve and grow our show. We are very proud of our State Fair facilities, particularly the Five Points Bank Arena. Some of the highlights of the 2015 Nebraska State Fair include: Added Premium payouts. This year s total premiums are $50,805 for the Draft Horse events. Halter class premiums have also been increased and will now payout to six places. Six horse hitches will compete for Double Points in our Classic Series Qualifier Classes. You will hitch your six during two of the three hitch performances. Only sixteen six horse hitch entries will be accepted. The Nebraska Draft Horse & Mule Association will again provide a draft horse exhibitor hospitality booth and exhibitor breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Their booth will be located in the South Stalling Barn. Farm Team classes have been moved to the first weekend of the Fair and will show in conjunction with the evening Hitch Classes. Each evening performance will begin with Feed Team races with a final drive off of the top teams from the two preceding performances during the final Sunday afternoon show. Also, an additional Sunday morning show has been added and will feature Obstacle and timed event competitions for Farm Teams. Draft Horse Halter Exhibitors will be allowed to Check-out of the Fair as soon as Halter has finished on Saturday. The Sunday Hitch Show will again be a Matinee with a start time of 4:00 p.m. We hope this will allow our exhibitors that want to get home Sunday night ample time to load out and get home safely. The Draft Horse Pull will be on Friday, September 4 th at 6:00 p.m. All entry information for Pullers is located in a section following the Hitch, Halter & Farm Team show details. Please be sure to read the Equine Rules and Regulations as well as the State Fair General Rules & Regulations, Health Requirements and General Information Posted on the State Fair Website Equine Page. Thank you once again for your interest and participation in the Nebraska State Fair and we look forward to seeing you in August Terry Pierce Draft Horse Superintendent
