P R O G R A M Protecting the rights and dignity of residents in skilled nursing and residential care facilities throughout Los Angeles County since 1980. Tournament proceeds will benefit the Long-term Care Ombudsman Program at WISE & Healthy Aging for its advocacy work to help protect and ensure the quality of care of seniors and disabled adults living in skilled nursing and residential care facilities. Trained WISE & Healthy Aging Ombudsmen are responsible for advocating for residents in the more than 2,000 long-term care facilities in the City and County of Los Angeles. The Ombudsman Program also has the State mandate to conduct preliminary investigations of allegations of elder abuse in long-term care settings. The mission of WISE & Healthy Aging is to enhance the independence, dignity and quality of life of older adults through leadership, advocacy and innovative services. For more than 40 years, WISE & Healthy Aging, a nonprofit, social services agency -- the result of a 2007 merger between WISE Senior Services and Center for Healthy Aging -- has been recognized for its wide range of innovative support services designed to meet the needs of a diverse clientele within the greater Los Angeles area.
