INTRODUCTION Tongyeong promises The Tongyeong Asian Triathlon Championships in 2007 will welcome and embrace all athletes regardless of religion, athletic ability, sex, age or political perspective. We will seek to create an unparalleled multi-national, multi-cultural, multi-sport event, complemented by one of the most stunning natural environments. What to expect at Tongyeong We aim to provide each participant with one of the most enjoyable experiences of their life and to make it the most memorable event in the history of the Asian Championship concept. Triathlon & Tongyeong Tongyeong is acknowledged as the triathlon Mecca of Korea. Tongyeong has an unrivalled natural environment for triathlon. Tongyeong has hosted many triathlons, aquathlons since 2000; 2003 & 2004 ITU world cup, 2005 & 2006 ITU Asian continental Cup.

We welcome all the Asian triathlon competitors and their supporters visiting the 2007 Tongyeong Asian Triathlon Championships. Tongyeong consists of 150 dazzling jewel-like Islands and it is situated in the heart of the National Hallyeo Marine Park. Tongyeong also boasts its world-renowned crystal clear sea making it the ideal city for marine tourism. Tongyeng is also famous for Admiral Yi, Sun Shin's Victory of Han San, a sea battle which ranks fourth most important in world s Sea Battle history. Furthermore, Tongyeong is recognized as the birthplace of famous artists and writers, as well as, famous athletic superstars. We are delighted and honored to host the 2007 Tongyeong Asian Triathlon Championships in such a proud city. We anticipate that this race in Tongyeong will bring forth a sense of change by providing the magnificent sea as a background for this event. This very sea represents Mireok Island's Special Tourism Zone as well as Admiral Yi s patriotic soul. The city of Tongyeong is doing its utmost in preparations to provide both the competitors and spectators with the most heartfelt impression. We hope that many participants will take part in this competition so that it will become a very successful event.
