GETREN P Sliding Agents for Window Profiles Sept 2014
Typical application of GETREN P sliding agents Our GETREN P series was developed for the coating of rubber surfaces. This coating facilitates the assembling of rubber profiles for construction or window frames made of aluminum, plastics or wood. Page 2
Sliding agents play a significant role for the handling of different surfaces Without a lubricant, the rubber and the metal surface are in direct contact The sliding of the two materials is insufficient High forces are required to assemble the rubber profiles to the frame Metal Rubber Oxygen When using a lubricant, the rubber and the metal surface are not in direct contact Liquid lubricants: non-drying, e.g. silicone oil drying resulting in pasty appearance, e.g. OMS based sliding polymers Metal Rubber Metal Rubber Fluid Pasty Page 3
There are two common ways of applying sliding agents Spraying procedure Dipping procedure Electrical control and control elements Page 4
Products of the GETREN P series Products Rubber Type Comment Chemical Base (Active Content) Efflux Time (DIN EN ISO 2431) GETREN P 3000 All types of rubber Compatible with Plexiglas Silicone oil (35%) 20-40 sec GETREN P 3300 All types of rubber Compatible with Plexiglas and self cleaning glasses* OMS (100%) 20-40 sec GETREN P 3600 All types of rubber Compatible with Plexiglas and self cleaning glasses* OMS (30%), aqueous emulsion 20-40 sec * compatibility confirmed by Pilkington Page 5

OMS based sliding polymers provide a more homogeneous surface than silicone oils Formation of a flexible and stable film on the profile surface that looks perfectly homogeneous No influence on surrounding materials GETREN P 3000 Surface looks always wet and oily GETREN P 3300 Surface looks homogeneously mat although coated GETREN P 3600 Surface looks homogeneously mat although coated Page 7
Rubber profiles coated with OMS have a much better optical appearance Improved optical characteristics by intensifying the color strength of treated rubber profiles Uncoated Profile Profile coated with GETREN P 3600 or P 3300 Page 8
Self cleaning glasses are not being harmed by our OMS based sliding polymers Suitable for window glasses having self cleaning effect Indicated in the technical information brochures of Pilkington Visible border formation caused by coating with a standard product No visible border formation by coating with GETREN P 3300 or P 3600 Page 9
Contaminations with OMS based sliding polymers can be easily removed if glass surfaces are contaminated by GETREN P 3300 or P 3600, they can be easily removed by using non-abrasive standard detergent solutions, this needs to be done promptly before the product dries out Source: www.henkel.de Page 10
GETREN P 3600, being our eco-friendly solution, offers even more advantages GETREN P 3600 does not contain any solvents or VOC substances. It is 98 % biodegradable (as determined by the Zahn-Wellens-Test OECD 302 B) by DIN EN ISO 9888 within 7 days. That means no use of solvent resistant rubber gloves (e.g. nitril or fluorinated rubber gloves) is necessary when wet profiles are handled. Advantages during production No exhaust system required No static charging occurs No fire hazard No special storage conditions Page 11
