A documentary film precedes our Navy launch out to the USS Arizona Smith s Fern Grotto Memorial to observe the sunken battleship. E Komo Mai (welcome) new friends over a Mai Tai during an included lunch at Gordon Biersch Brewery. Situated on the Honolulu Harbor waterfront, enjoy views of passing ships while we dine. Afternoon brings us past the volcanic shaped Hawaiian State Capitol Building, Iolani Palace the only palace in the U.S. once inhabited by a reigning monarch and the Punchbowl, an extinct volcano and home to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. B,L DAY 3: OAHU Today is your opportunity to explore everything Oahu has to offer. Relax Maui Ocean Center Maui Ocean Center on the golden sands of Waikiki Beach, explore Diamond Head crater, mingle with the fish at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, lose yourself in Honolulu s downtown ambience, or spend the day immersed in culture at the Polynesian Culture Center. Enjoy dinner at the hotel s Kuhio Beach Grill at your leisure. D DAY 4: WAIMEA CANYON Fly this morning to Kauai, known as the Garden Isle for its lush, tropical landscapes. We enjoy an open-air lunch at Kilohana Plantation, a historic landmark built by a sugar baron in 1935 and a remarkable example of plantation-era architecture. Then sample coffee at the Kauai Coffee Company Visitors Center, the country s largest coffee grower. Later, we witness the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon. This vast gorge is a striking palette of red rock and emerald green vegetation formed millions of years ago from a collapsed volcano. We arrive at our accommodations for two nights at the secluded Aqua Kauai Beach Resort on the Eastern Coconut Coast. The charming rooms with private balconies and manicured grounds evoke a true feel for colonial Hawaii. L DAY 5: KAUAI After a delicious breakfast, the day is yours to explore Smith s Fern Grotto. This pleasant boat ride features songs and stories of ancient Hawaii. A short stroll through the rainforest opens up to a lush Fern Grotto. For the remainder of the day you may wish to take a helicopter tour for birds-eye views of the island s beauty or simply relax at the hotel. Dinner is included at the hotel s Naupaka Terrace Restaurant. B,D DAY 6: MAUI This morning we fly to Maui, nicknamed the Valley Isle for the valleys carved into its mountains. Lunch at the Maui Ocean Center offers stunning views of Ma alaea Bay Harbor. After lunch, there s time to browse the center s unique collection of marine life and check out the new Humpbacks of Hawaii exhibit. Next, we drive to Lahaina, an old whaling port dotted with historical landmarks, shops, and galleries. The town is especially known for its gigantic Banyan tree whose branches reach out over an acre. Later, we arrive at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa for three nights to enjoy 40 oceanfront acres of lavish swimming pools, tropical plants, shopping, and multiple dining options. We have easy access to long beach strolls from here and a private balcony off your room. Activity Level There isn t a universal standard for rating tour mobility requirements, however, to help evaluate if a tour is right for you, Holiday Vacations has designated a rating system that identifies the average activity level for the entire tour. Activity levels are based on an expectation of general health and mobility. We are using a sliding scale based on Level 1 being the easiest and Level 5 being the most challenging. With Level 1, expect to climb some stairs, navigate slight slopes, stand for reasonable periods and walk over relatively level conditions. With Level 5, expect a high activity level with challenging conditions, lots of walking, uneven surfaces, and possibly high altitudes. As a participant on any Holiday Vacations tour, you must be able to navigate your way in and out of airports with your own luggage. Airport personnel can provide wheelchair assistance upon request. You must also be able to handle your own carry-on bags. This includes on airplanes, on and off motorcoaches and to and from hotel rooms. Your checked baggage will be handled for you at group hotels. If you require mobility assistance, you must be accompanied by an able companion who is capable of, and totally responsible for, providing the necessary assistance. Holiday Vacations does not provide personal attendant services. The ability to perform assorted levels of activity while traveling varies between each individual. Although we welcome your questions regarding the amount of activity on any tour, Holiday Vacations is unable to determine your travel health and fitness level. Please consult your doctor with questions when evaluating your ability to travel.
