Horse of the Year Show entries will require a Horse of the Year Show Entry Form, in addition, to be completed. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. The Show is run in accordance with the British Show Horse Association Rules for 2018. 2. No responsibility will be accepted by the Organisers for any loss, damage, illness or injury sustained by the Exhibitors and/or Riders or their Horses. Entries are accepted on this basis. 3. Classes will not run ahead of schedule, but large entries might cause some classes to overrun. 4. HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW CLASSES: Entries in classes 10-14, 18 & 19 inclusive, are confined to Registered Horses owned, produced and ridden by Members of the BSHA. These classes are qualifiers for the Ladies Side Saddle, Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Small and Working Hunter classes at the Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3 rd 7 th October 2018. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. The qualification at this Show is a Golden Opportunity - if the first has already qualified, the second will qualify. If the first and second have already qualified the third will go forward and so on irrespective, to the next unqualified horse. ALL COMPETITORS QUALIFYING FOR Horse of the Year Show 2018 MUST COMPLETE THEIR ENTRY FORM AND POST ASAP to GRANDSTAND MEDIA. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk 5. A Horse of the Year Show official entry form MUST be submitted, FULLY COMPLETED, together with the BSHA Show entry form and payment. Failure to include the form will result in the entry being returned. This is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, all data given upon entry of these classes is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. For full policy details please visit www.grandstandentries.com. The form can be downloaded from the BSHA website or from the Horse of the Year Show website. 6. NOVICE CLASSES: Novice classes 2, 3, & 15 are open to Horses which have not won a first prize of 35 or more, or more than a total of 250, including Championship Prize Money, in any classes which were affiliated to the Association, at home or abroad, prior to the 1 st January in the current year. Winnings gained as a four-year-old are excepted unless that four-year-old has won an Open ridden class. A Novice may be shown in a snaffle bridle. 7. Amateur Classes: Amateur classes 7-9 & 16 are open to Horses owned and ridden by an Amateur. For a definition of Amateur please refer to the BSHA Rule Book 2018, Rule 7, a copy of which is available to view on the BSHA s website. 8. Restricted Class: Restricted class 17 is open to Horses which have not qualified for either the Royal International Horse Show or the Horse of the Year Show in 2018. 9. The Organisers reserve the right to make alterations to the published timetable, cancel any class if there are insufficient entries, or to amend the conditions of any class at their absolute discretion. If entries are large it may be necessary to arrange preliminary judging. 10. REFUND OF ENTRIES: REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN UNLESS A VETERINARY OR DOCTORS CERTIFICATE IS PRODUCED. ALL REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE OFFICE WITHIN 7 WORKING DAYS AFTER THE SHOW. ALL CERTIFICATES/PAPERWORK MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 14 WORKING DAYS AFTER THE SHOW. PLEASE NOTE A 15 ADMINISTRATION FEE WILL BE RETAINED BY THE BSHA FOR ADMINISTRATON PURPOSES. Horse of the Year Show levies will not be refunded as they are payable on entries received.

There will be no refunds for clashes or missed classes. 11. GROOMS: In classes where Grooms are permitted to enter the Ring during judging, they must be dressed correctly dressed of smart appearance (no jeans or denim) and wearing headwear. 12. STABLING: BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT MUST BE MADE DIRECT TO ADDINGTON MANOR. Your stabling contract is with Addington Manor; the BSHA has NO involvement or responsibility for the stabling and any issues/complaints must be dealt with through Addington EC office. 13. PRIZE MONEY: Prize money will be posted after the Show. 14. DOPE TESTING: Please note all Horses on the Showground may be required to be dope tested and testing will be via blood or urine samples. 15. DOGS: Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are only allowed in the car and lorry parks. Dogs are not allowed in the competition or public areas, main building, cafeteria or stable barn. 16. COMPLAINTS: Any objection or complaint must be made in writing and signed (no anonymous complaints will be actioned) and submitted to the Disciplinary Steward or Secretary on the day of the Incident. TROPHY COLLECTION Trophies can be collected at the Show. See notices in Show Office for collection times; a 25.00 deposit is required for each trophy. BARBECUES There are to be NO Barbecues in the Lorry Park under any circumstances. Please take your Barbecues to the field well away from the Stabling and Lorry Park. STABLING ARRANGEMENTS STABLES All stabling will be organised and run by Addington Manor EC. Please use their Stabling Form and send your requests and payments direct to them. Stabling Forms sent to the BSHA will only result in delays. FORAGE and BEDDING Don t overload your lorry! HOYS WORKING HUNTER CLASSES This competition is for Working Hunters, any weight, mares, geldings or stallion (competing stallions must have a red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail) four years old or over, exceeding 148cm, to be ridden. Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes. All Riders, Owners and Producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association. Fences will not exceed 1.14m (3ft 9ins) in height, there should be a minimum of 8 fences and a maximum of 12 fences. The course must contain a combination and should contain a water tray. This class will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed).
