CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Players entering must be registered members of a body affiliated with the BWF and must be in good standing with their Member Association. All players submitting entries for the tournament will be deemed to have read and accepted the conditions under which the tournament is to be conducted. Competitors play at their own risk. Rules and Regulations 1. The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Laws of Badminton adopted by the Badminton World Federation and in accordance with the Oceania Circuit Regulations 2. Any entry received which is not appropriately authorised by an entrant s national organisation will not be accepted 3. BWF regulations will apply in relation to withdrawals from the tournament 4. It is MANDATORY for the Player name and Country to be on the back of the shirt. Lettering on Player s clothing must conform to the Oceania Circuit Regulations www.oceaniabadminton.org 5. Li-Ning 300+ Shuttlecocks will be used 6. Seedings and Draw a. Badminton Oceania will oversee the draw in accordance with the Competition Rules of the BWF b. The draw will be done on 22 March 2011 and will use the BWF world rankings from 17 March 2011 as the seedings c. BWF regulations will apply in relation to withdrawals from the tournament d. Notification of withdrawal(s) with reason must be given immediately to Badminton New Zealand by fax or email and must be supported by a medical certificate. The organisers may require documentary evidence to support withdrawals for any other reason. If withdrawal arises after players have arrived at the venue, notification of withdrawal accompanied by supporting documentation must be made IN PERSON to the Referee. 7. In accordance with CGR 25.1.2 Any withdrawal after the Sunday immediately preceding the draw for any reason whatsoever, renders the Member Association concerned liable to an amount of US$150 per player/pair for level 4 BWF sanctioned tournaments to the organisers, Continental Confederation and BWF, for the inconvenience caused by the withdrawal. 8. Anti-doping regulations a. The BWF Anti-Doping Regulations apply at this BWF sanctioned event. Players competing in this tournament are subject to in competition drug testing under BWF Anti-Doping Regulations, Badminton New Zealand Drug Policy and the regulations and provisions of the New Zealand Sports Drug Agency www.nzsda.co.nz b. Players are reminded that it is their obligation to submit completed Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) application forms to the BWF through their National Association to get approval to use prescribed medications containing prohibited substance. In the first instance, contact your Member Association. Players are required to apply for TUE approval at least 21 days before the start of this international event. Each player will be given two tournament shuttles free of charge if requested for training b. Entry fees are non-refundable after the close of entries on 8 March 2011, except when supported by a medical certificate, refunds will incur a $10 administration charge c. Prize money will be paid in New Zealand dollars at the conclusion of the tournament in accordance with the prize money schedule as outlined in the Oceania Circuit Regulations. All prize money is subject to New Zealand Resident With-holding tax for amounts over $500 d. By entering this event, the player hereby agrees and acknowledges that other players, coaches, managers, supporters, spectators, the organisers, administrators and sponsors of this event, and any other person, shall have the right to: photograph and/or record on video all and any games or practice conducted during the course of the event, retain such photographs or video recordings for their own use of whatsoever nature, distribute such photographs or video recordings to any other party, display such photographs or video recordings during the event or any time thereafter, in any form whatsoever (including, but not limited to: promotional displays of the organisers and / or the sponsors of the event or any similar event, social network internet sites, the website(s) of the organisers and/or sponsors of the event and of Badminton New Zealand) PROVIDED THAT no such photographs or video recordings shall be used or retained for any illegal immoral or unseemly use or purpose."
