Calabah Flame Raced wide without cover throughout. Just Leave Raced wide without cover throughout. Gold Mogul Began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. Shortly after the start knuckled and lost ground. Held up for clear running from the 500m until passing the 250m. Constellation Miss Began awkwardly. Rider Jarrod Todd reported that the mare laid in under pressure in the home straight. Out Of Mind- Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Instant Turf Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Duke Of York Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Race 2 BE RACES READY 2YO & 3YO MAIDEN PLATE 1600 metres: Affectation Slow to begin. After passing the 200m when improving was then obliged to steady off the heels of Bel Burgess. Then held up for a clear run until approaching the 100m.
Traffic Cop Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight and hung in. Interlock Pulled hard in the early and middle stages and near the 1200m was checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Stryking Love. Following this incident then continued to pull hard in the middle stages and was continually steadied to avoid the heels of Stryking Love for some distance. Mrs Bignell - Approaching the 100m was obliged to steady when racing to the inside of The Moons Back (Ryan Maloney) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Ryan Maloney was severely reprimanded and notified he must exercise far greater care in similar circumstances. Kiwi Charm Raced wide without cover throughout. Performed below market expectations. Rider Dean Yendall could offer no explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rebel Rebel Approaching the 100m was steadied and shifted to the inside of Killderking to continue to improve. The Moons Back - Trainer Patrick Payne was fined $100 for late rider notification for the gelding. Race 3 SWAN HILL COUNCIL DROUGHT BREAKER MAIDEN 1600 metres: Family Gossip Injured enroute to the course. Withdrawn by Stewards acting on Veterinary Advice at 11.34am. Fashionedinheaven Replated upon arrival at the barriers, resulting in a delay to the start. Nom De La Danse Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Nisaean Steadied when crowded shortly after the start between Lady Angelica and Irish Ransom (NZ) which began awkwardly and shifted out. Aftershave Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to obtain the lead near the 1200m. Whats The Angle Near the 700m raced in restricted room to the inside of Vienna Storm (AUT) and as a result was obliged to be steadied. Trainer Ciaron Maher was fined $30 for use of club colors on the mare. Vienna Storm (AUT) Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. 2 nd placegetter. Prior to correct weight rider Dean Yendall viewed the Stewards patrol film in the straight before deciding not to lodge an objection.
Lady Angelica Rider Chris Parnham was fined $200 for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Chris Parnhams good record and that Lady Angelica won the race. Saint Blackwires Rider Michelle Hagley was reprimanded for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. Irish Ransom (NZ) Rider Brooke Sweeney was fined $600 for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account her recent record and also notified Apprentice Mentor Mr M Pumpa that this incident would be added to the review that Brooke Sweeney has with the Apprentice Skills Review Panel. Race 4 LADBROKES 3YO MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres: Oceans Between Us Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Performed poorly. Rider Jason Benbow could offer no explanation for the performance. Jason Benbow further added that the gelding had pulled up in a normal manner. Saturdayonthecouch Raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages and hung out rounding the 700m turn and lost ground as a result. Following this incident the gelding continued to race ungenerously for the remainder of the race proving difficult to ride. Trainer Austy Coffey was advised that a warning be placed against the gelding for its behaviour today. Spicy Mac Approaching the 1100m was crowded for room by Onya Skates Kate (Jarrod Fry) which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Jarrod Fry was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Top Of The Bunch Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Black Envy Near the 150m was bumped by Leica Celebre which shifted ground inward under pressure. Performed below market expectations. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Held up for clear running from the 600m until approaching the 400m. Near the 300m was steadied when disappointed for a narrow run between Lovemelongtime and Gun Case which shifted in slightly under pressure. As a result the gelding was steadied and shifted to the outside of Gun Case to obtain clear running. Boldacious Girl Began awkwardly.

Race 6 TASCO PETROLEUM THINK BIG CLASSIC 2100 metres: Castle Hackett (NZ) Over raced in the middle stages and got its head up on several occasions. Laid out under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage. Gold Medals (NZ) Passing the winning post on the first occasion was checked to avoid the heels of Clever Boy which had also struck interference at that point. 3 rd placegetter. Prior to correct weight rider Jack Hill viewed the Stewards patrol film approaching the winning post on the first occasion before deciding not to lodge an objection. Monteux Near the 300m was eased when crowded for room between Northern Journey and Red Shift (NZ) both of which shifted ground slightly. Performed below market expectations. Clever Boy Passing the winning post on the first occasion was restrained to avoid the heels of Castle Hackett (NZ), which was carried inwards by Northern Journey which shifted in after becoming awkwardly placed close to the heels of Monteux. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. It Could Be You Rider Jarrod Todd reported that the gelding hung out for the majority of the race. Red Shift (NZ) Darren Gauci was fined $200 for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Darren Gaucis excellent record and that Red Shift (NZ) won the race. Dean Yendall (Monteux) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift ground inwards when not sufficiently clear of Northern Journey resulting in that horse being crowded in onto Castle Hackett (NZ) which in turn was crowded across the running of Clever Boy resulting in that gelding being restrained and losing its rightful running. Dean Yendalls licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight June 12, 2016 and to expire at midnight June 19, 2016. (7 meetings, 2 metropolitan, 5 provincial). Race 7 VETTA SPAGHETTI BM64 HANDICAP 975 metres: Menarka Slow to begin. Near the 100m was checked to avoid the heels of Such Hope (Mark Pegus) which shifted in to obtain clear running. Hydro Force Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Spirit Of Dekay Raced wide without cover in the early stages. Misty Grey Approaching the 200m was bumped on the hindquarters by Jose Wales, was turned inwards and became unbalanced. Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have been galloped on on its near hind leg. Lost its near hind plate during the race. Miss Delorean Near the 250m was severely crowded and became unbalanced between Richman and Hay Handsome which shifted out slightly and was turned outwards when brushed on the hindquarters by Miss Delorean. Richman For some distance near the 250m was crowded for room between Miss Delorean and Hydro Force which shifted out slightly. Jose Wales - Approaching the 200m shifted out, made contact with the hindquarters of Misty Grey and was steadied. Such Hope From the 250m until passing the 100m was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Mark Pegus (Such Hope) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a), the careless riding being that approaching the 100m he angled his mount in to obtain a run when not sufficiently clear of Menarka resulting in that mare having to be checked. Mark Pegus licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight June 12, 2016 and to expire at midnight June 19, 2016. (7 meetings, 2 metropolitan, 5 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the low range, took into account his record and guilty plea. Race 8 MURRAY DOWNS SWAN HILL CUP 1600 metres: Curragh King 1 st emergency Jake Duffy was severely reprimanded for failing fulfil his engagement due to being overweight. As no senior rider was available at the allotted weight, Stewards permitted apprentice Brooke Sweeney to ride the gelding. Slow to begin. Rugged Cross (GB) reared in the gates and became cast. Examined by the RV Veterinary Surgeon who deemed the gelding unfit to race. Withdrawn by Stewards at 3.54pm. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.

For some distance approaching the 200m was held up and unable to obtain clear running.
