Germany Bike Adventure Mosel Rhine 2019 Individual Self-Guided 7 days / 6 nights A cycling tour along the Moselle cycle route not only makes a wine connoisseur s heart beat faster. The Moselle is one of the most diverse and loveliest river valleys in Europe with its numerous picturesque river loops, vine covered slopes, romantic wine towns and historic cities. Numerous restaurants, mostly built out of stone or framework, allow for rest and relaxation and for the leisurely enjoyment of the local culinary specialties and the mild wine. The collaboration of the inhabitants of the border triangle France-Germany-Luxemburg which began early and demonstrates a peaceful cohabitation to the rest of the world, still shows in hospitality and openness today.
Itinerary Day to Day Day 1: Trier Individual arrival to the oldest city of Germany. Allow the last 2000 years to pass by in a time lapse during a city round trip and you will find world known attractions. In the evening, you can enjoy the unique Riesling in one of the traditional wine taverns in Trier, as well as the atmosphere which is steeped in history. Day 2: Trier - Trittenheim/surroundings 37-45 km Today the route leads on the bank of the Moselle through tranquil wine villages. From Trittenheim, one can reach the other river bank by crossing one of the oldest bridges and view the old, preserved ferry towers. One can enjoy a wonderful view over the Moselle valley from the vineyards above the village. Allposters.com Day 3: Trittenheim/surroundings - Bernkastel-Kues/Zeltingen 20-35 km Passing the oldest wine village in Germany, Neumagen-Dhron, you arrive in Piesport, where an impressively restored roman cellar dating back to the 4 th century awaits you. It is worthwhile to take a side trip to the famous wine village of Bernkastel-Kues and visit the paved market square which is surrounded by half-timbered houses. Panoramio.com Day 6: Treis-Karden/surroundings - Koblenz 39 km In Moselkern, it is worthwhile to take a small detour to the nearby Burg Eltz. The Moselle flows into the Rhine at Koblenz. A splendid panorama view awaits you when taking the cable car up to the Ehrenbreitstein fortress (included). Day 7: Individual departure Day 4: Bernkastel-Kues/Zeltingen Zell 34-41 km Wine lovers will especially enjoy this stage. Countless wine slopes are a delight to see, inviting one to take part in a wine tasting in one of the traditional taverns. Cycling behind Traben-Trarbach, you will arrive at the Moselle loop at Zell, the Zeller Hamm. The Marienburg, around 900 years old, sits enthroned on the mountain ridge. Day 5: Zell - Treis-Karden/surroundings 47 km Enojy a wonderful view of Europe s steepest vineyard, the Calmont. One has spectacular view over the Moselle valley from the peak. You will arrive in Cochem, known by its imposing fortress complexes as well as the Reichsburg, a landmark of German castle romance.

Please note that we offer mostly unisex bikes (the same frame for ladies and men, no cross beam), but we also have some ladies and men specific bikes. The bikes are equipped with one saddle bag and a speedometer. On request we can also provide a map holder or handle bar bag and/or a second saddle bag. Each bike is equipped with a small repair kit, for minor repairs. We provide a bike lock for every two bikes. We do not offer rental helmets because of sanitary reasons, but recommend you to use your own. The switchable electric drive gives you a new bike feeling. Cyclists of varying fitness can book a bicycle tour together. Climbs can be handled easily.
