Less Waiting, More Rowing : New On-Site Check-in Procedures In a continued effort to have competitors spend less time in the registration line, and more time focused on rowing, we are introducing a few changes to the on-site check-in procedures for this year s Masters National Championships: Group Pick-up: A coach or crew representative can pick up the credentials for their crew, except for non-compliant members. Individual athletes are not required to show up to registration to collect their own credentials. Less Re-Printing: Event numbers will no longer be printed on the athlete credential. When substitutions are made, athletes will no longer be required to have their wristband re-printed to reflect the change. Compliance with the 6-event limit will be
monitored online, and changes will not be processed if it will result in an athlete going over this limit. Express Lane On-Site Registration Athletes that are compliant with the regatta s Membership requirements by August 14 will be eligible for the Express Lane. An email will be sent to notify eligible athletes, and those athletes credentials will be in a separate line from the normal registration area. Instead of waiting in line, you can simply walk up, sign out that you ve collected your credentials, and get back to your crew. Line-up Changes Hot Seating To allow for further ease at the registration table, USRowing will re-open RegattaCentral to accept line-up changes online. Credentials are printed based on the line-ups at the August 11 deadline. Leaving placeholder names in after this date will result in incorrect credentials, and will cause delays for your crews at registration. This second line-up window is intended for line-up changes after the deadline. Coaches will be able to edit their line-ups in RegattaCentral beginning Monday, August 14, until 9:00pm on Wednesday, August 16. After Wednesday, any additional line-up changes must be submitted by completing a form at the USRowing registration desk. NEW FOR 2017: Any lineup changes processed on-site will be subject to a $5 administrative fee. Reminders: No line-up changes will be allowed less than 1 hour before the first race of an event. BE ADVISED: There is not a separate hot seat dock for this event. Crews will need to come in to the return dock, and go over to the launch dock for their second race. Please plan accordingly. Once shells launch, rowers will cross the race course. When crossing the race course, big yellow buoys will mark the traffic pattern and rowers must keep their port blades by the buoys. Rowers will then travel up in the far open water, outside of the lanes. Rowers have the ability to travel above the railroad bridge to warm up, but must not cut any of the red buoys. If rowers do not have time to go above the bridge, rowers are able to enter in the race course at the top of the course, and file in to their respected lanes. The race course lanes are marked by yellow signs stating LANE 1, LANE 2 etc. Lane 7 is the closest to the road, while Lane 1 is the farthest from the road. Once a rower finishes their race, rowers are instructed to row immediately into the recovery docks. Rowers who just finished their race must not cross the big yellow buoys that mark the traffic pattern. Rowers who just finished their race will file into the embayment and head to the recovery docks. Practice Course Map The practice traffic will follow the same rules as the race day traffic pattern. For practice, rowers are welcome to row up past the railroad bridge, as far as they would like. Rowers are at their own risk. Four
red buoys will be located above the railroad bridge and all boats must not cut a buoy. Right hand rule will apply above the bridge. Rowers are then allowed to row down the course in any of the lanes. Rowers must look out for the individual docks that will be placed 500m into the straight away.
