The Macon County Beekeepers Association invites 4- Hers and their families to come make candles. Saturday November 7th from 2:00pm 4:00pm The first two sheets of wax are free and then $1 per sheet for each additional. One sheet will make one large or two small candles. November 2015 Macon County 4- H Upcoming Events Christmas Parade Float Macon 4- H is making a parade float for this years Franklin Christmas Parade! Would you like to ride in the parade?? Details: The parade is on Sunday November 29th at 3:00pm We will decorate our float the week of Nov. 23rd Nov. 28th You must help with the decoration to ride on the float Our organizational meeting will be on Thursday November 19 at 6:00pm o the organizational meeting is not mandatory but you must be there is you want to help plan how the float will look Please sign up to ride by November 16th so that we will know how many people are interested 349-2046 4- Hers and parents both are welcome Make an Angel Ornament Come join us to make an angel ornament for your tree. Debbie Greer will lead our crafts this month and teach us how to make a beautiful decoration for our home or as a gift. All ages welcome. Please sign up by Nov. 18th. Thursday November 19th at 4:00pm Thank you to everyone who worked on the October service project! Thank you to all of the 4-Hers that worked on our October Service Project. Macon County 4-H made 65 placemats with original artwork for Meals on Wheels. These placemats will be used by seniors and shut-ins who will benefit from our great 4-H Enthusiasm! 2

November 2015 Macon County 4- H Club Corner Archery For youth ages 9-18 Archery will meet Wednesday November 4th from 3:30-5:00 at the Extension office. In case of bad weather, the rain date is Wednesday November 18th at 3:30. Budding Chefs For youth ages 5-8 In October, we made spiders out of rice crispy treats. This month we will make holiday bread that we can share with our families. Our meeting will be on Tuesday November 17th at 3:30. Chefs R Us For youth ages 9-18 This is the great time of the year for us Chefs. Last month we explored the pumpkin and roasted different types of seeds to see if we could find a favorite. We will meet on Wednesday November 18th at 3:30 to make a wonderful holiday recipe. Please come join us. 4- H Chess Club For youth ages 9-18 The Chess Club is growing and there are new minds to challenge you here. The next Chess meeting will be Monday, November 30th from 3:30-5:00 PM. For more information, contact Tammara Talley at 349-2046. Macon Hoofprints 4- H Club For youth ages 5-18 We will not meet in November. We are collecting names of those that are interested in Horse Bowl this winter. If you would like to improve your horse knowledge, compete with other knowledgeable teammates and have a great time, let us know. This group will be raising and learning Welcome to the members of our new 4- H Market Steer about beef cattle over the next year. We are looking forward to seeing what great things this group st learns and does over the next year. Our first meeting in November will be on Saturday November 21 at 3:00. November 2015 Macon County 4- H The Needlers 4- H Club For youth ages 5-18 The Needler s 4- H Club will meet on Tuesday November 10th from 3:30 5:00.. For more information, contact Tammara at 349-2046. Macon County Sharp Shooters For youth ages 9-18 The next Sharpshooters meeting will be 7:00-8:30 PM, Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00pm in the main room of the Cooperative Extension Office. We will be cleaning and doing maintenance on our air rifles. Note: this is a different night for us due to the Holiday. We will not meet in December. This club is for youth ages 9-18. If you need more information, then contact Cliff Cyphers at 369-8060. The EPICS Youth Council For Ages 13 18 Our next meeting will be on Monday November 9th at 6:30. We will be working on two boxes for Operation Christmas Child. One box will be for a girl age 10-14 and one will be for a boy age 10-14. Please email Tammara, Carol or the group to let us know what items you are bringing for the box. We will also have a meet and greet for new members at 7:00. Please contact a leader or one of your officers for more information. Nantahala Community Helpers Ages 5 18 In October, we worked on the service project and older youth shot archery. In November, we will meet on Monday the 9th. For more information about this group, please talk to Mrs. Shannon West at Nantahala School.
