Nevertheless, the leaves are still falling like clockwork, so the Maintenance Crew is steadily cleaning up the Golf Course, and we hope to have everything cleaned up in the next few weeks. We are also working on cutting back and clearing some areas that are shading and choking out turf areas on the course. Between this and some newly planned sod projects, like #14 tees for example, my goal is to resurrect some areas of the course this spring that have been struggling. We will be addressing the many erosion problems on the course throughout this off-season also. We will be installing a cover, or blanket if you will, on the new Chipping Green this Winter for extremely cold temperature periods. Our new chipping green is a hybrid Bermuda grass that is extreme cold-sensitive, so this will help protect from any Winter damage, as happened last season due to prolonged below-freezing temps. The chipping green will still be open for practicing, as long as the blanket is off and temperatures are cooperating. Myself and the Maintenance staff wish all of you a Happy Holidays and look forward to an exciting and productive New Year here at the club. Course Superintendent, Jeff Losee
