Often an lbw decisin lks ut at first glance, but TV replays shwed the ball pitched utside leg stump, even thugh it wuld have struck middle stump. THE BATSMEN IS OUT The batsman is struck n the pad in frnt f the stumps and the ball has nt pitched utside leg stump (ie the ball has pitched in line with the stumps, r utside the line f ff stump) The batsman is struck n the pad utside the line f ff stump having nt made an attempt t hit the ball This is an imprtant part f the lbw law t remember as a batsman CAN be given ut playing n strke - even if they are struck utside the line f the ff stump - as lng as the ball is ging n t hit the stumps. A batsman can still be given ut lbw even if the ball has nt hit their pads. Fr example, a batsman can be given ut lbw if they have been hit n the helmet. Mdified 8/10/2017 Page 11 f 12
