WHAT IS THE FA PEOPLE S CUP? It s Everyone s Game! The FA People s Cup is for every amateur player who loves playing football. Small Sided Competition A small sided competition giving everyone from U14s to veterans the opportunity to start their own journey to Wembley. Cup Glory Played alongside The Emirates FA Cup and supported by BBC The FA People s Cup gives players the chance to have a taste of Cup glory.

2018 Dates Sign-up Launch Monday 1 January 2018 Sign- up close Sunday 18 February 2018 Round One w/c 19 February 2018* Semi Final Round Wednesday 21 st March 2018 Finals Saturday 28 th & Sunday 29 th April 2018 *Flexibility is provided in the delivery of the first round events meaning that they can take place anytime between Monday 19 th February and Sunday 25 th February 2018. Wednesday 21 st February 2018 has however been earmarked as the preferred delivery date for all College Category first round events.

Why Futsal? Clear appetite for Futsal from the FE Sector. Increase the number of Futsal Recreational players within FE. Kick start the creation of Futsal competition pathway with FE. Broaden the reach, provide flexible timings and accessible opportunities for students through football To reengage those players who have dropped out of the football into Futsal. To provide a competitive format outside of the traditional ECFA 11v11 programme. Opportunity to link into The FA National Futsal Pathway
Who does it Target? Focus on new and lapsed players. Focus on both male & female teams. Round One specifically targets students of the host college. An exciting opportunity to engage existing intra mural and recreational players into a national competition format. Support disability participants to engage within wider FA People s Cup competition.

Delivery Requirements Host Criteria: Minimum Criteria Essential Desirable Deliver across both Male and Female FA People s Cup categories Have indoor Capacity to deliver Futsal (ideally Sports Hall) Deliver Futsal utilising correct Futsal equipment including goals & Futsal's Commit to running 12 week recreational Futsal provision for College Students (intramural or Just Play) Commit to entering AoC Sport Pilot Futsal Competitive league. Supply tournament organiser and volunteers. Commit to sending individuals on a central venue Futsal Referee Course hosted by AoC Sport. Deliver Round 1 during the period 19 th -23 rd February (unless on half term in which alternative dates can be arranged). Work Collaboratively with AoC Sport to develop Futsal/Football within Further Education. Work Collaboratively with the County FA to pilot Futsal opportunities for the local community College is/will become a College Football Hub NOTE: There are No Minimal Requirements regarding the number of teams however colleges should be aiming to recruit 4 female teams and 6 male teams for round one of the competition. Delivery Requirements - Player Criteria Minimum Criteria Essential Desirable Maximum of 2 Male players from Cat 1-3 per FA People s Cup Team Maximum of 2 Female players from Cat 1-3 per FA People s Cup Team All Male players must be between 16-19 years old All Female players must be between 16-21 years old Players must be enrolled on a course of study within the host college.

Regional Delivery Opportunity There will be the opportunity for 9 Colleges to support in the delivery of 9 Regional Semi-Final rounds. Requirements for these events will be very similar to the first round: 1 host college in each of the 9 regions Facility availability on 21 st March Suitable equipment Workforce Tournament Organiser & Volunteers
Timelines & Process Next Steps: Colleges wanting to host a first round event complete the expression of interest form by the 13 th October Host venues will then be uploaded to the PlayFootball search tool on the FA.com The FA People s Cup 2017 will launch on the 2 nd January with teams and individuals able to sign up online. Host venues will receive a log-in to be able to determine how many teams have entered so as to be able to organise the tournament.
