Transmitted electronically via Parent Portal on Sunday, March 18 th Dear John Green Families, I hope you are enjoying a fun Saint Patrick s Day Weekend. I would like to thank the students, staff and volunteers for creating an amazing Open House and Art Exhibition and I would like to thank all of the families who were able to participate. Families got to see some amazing things: There were culminating activities, learning in progress and on hands learning as well as an amazing Art Exhibition. On behalf of the staff, I would like to thank the PFC for providing our staff dinner before the big events. Thank you to students and families who participated in the Dublin s Saint Patrick s Day Parade. It was fun to walk in the parade and be cheered on by families and community members. Congratulations to Ms. Paul s fifth grade class. They won the Golden Sneaker Contest. Her class receives this year s NBA golden sneaker. Climate Survey: Please take a moment to participate in our climate survey. Did you know as part of the new state accountability system, there are additional measures in addition to academic achievement of students? School climate and parent involvement are also measured. One way to help measure climate and involvement is through surveys. This comprehensive climate survey is going allow us to compare results to last year s baseline survey and to help make recommendations on different aspects of our school and school programs. It is essential that all families participate in this survey. Please use the link below to complete this survey. Thank you for your time and input. https://goo.gl/forms/cftnezrsd0hufqay2 Yearbook Information The yearbook deadline is quickly approaching. We need your photos to put in the yearbook. Parents must order on or before picture day or your student s portrait will not be taken. Please see flyer included in this letter. Parents may place orders at: https://apvisions.com/sites/john green.html National Student Walk Out Day There are many different viewpoints and feelings in regards to demonstrations and specifically to last Wednesday s Nation wide Walk Out. There were sixty six (66) Green students, families and staff who participated or came to observe the event. Many students/families brought signs communicating peace, hope, support, kindness and much more. During this seventeen minute event, students read their signs, made statements or sang songs. I am proud of our students behavior during this time. They demonstrated our school rules perfectly. They were safe, respectful and responsible.
